The complete mental barricade to obvious MAJOR flaws in the organization. I feel i forced the barricade for years until I just couldn't anymore and was honest with myself. JW's live in a constant lie:
- I think for myself
- No one influences what I do
- I am free to do whatever i want
- The organization is loving
- They are 'The Truth"
- We are happy, look no one else is
- Only our lives are fulfilled an meaningful

I agree about the political/cultural/religious implications and motives of the entire bible. Not even the OT. But all of it. -

Atheism
by Jonathan Drake inrecent events and book reads (one suggested by cofty i believe- thank you) have lead me to the only logical and acceptable conclusion:.
there is no god.. simple logical reasoning: matter can neither me created or destroyed.
so the amount of mass in the universe is constant.

How do you feel about religion as a whole?
by FatherFirst init just seems to me religion in general primarily makes truly bad people worse, not genuinly good people better; and in many cases has even made good people do bad things in the name of their religion.
just curious, a personal poll if you will.
what are you guys' current views on religion as a whole?

Has This Site Ever Hurt You In Your Journey Out Of The JW Religion?
by minimus inthis site has gone through many metamorphosis over the years.
i believe it is a kinder, less edgy place tan it was a few years ago.
i wonder how many people were helped versus turned off by this place.

I found my way out, joined this site 3 months ago, and despite the sometimes edginess it has helped me observe similar situations to mine, to vent, to get advice and so on. I like it. -

What Hoser said.
religion is for people who would rather have the wrong answer over no answer at all.
I think the product of judeo-christian religions has been detrimental. And people such as the witnesses will say that is satan trying to trick people, but when you really think about it, the product of people reading the holy bible and koran is more often than not destructive to others. Just because the witnesses or amish or others don't use it to cause wars doesn't make it good.

I think three months for me. I had pretty much faded out without this site. It wasn't a part of my awakening. But has become a part of my venting. Coping. And hopefully Assisting other if I can. -

"...and they were eating and drinking and marrying, etc"
by Phaedra inwas just thinking of how i used to sit in audience growing up at the kh hearing of "those in noah's day" eating and drinking and what not during some wt article.
i thought, "those poor people, doing what their hearts desire, and then perishing because they were not people of jehovah.".
they lived, partied and died.. we don't live any differently today.. we are those people.. we thought we were the exception.. fools we were.. phae.

I am sure some of our modern day maniacs that have committed mass genocide had better reasons to slaughter men, women and children than just "they were enjoying their life too much". I am not saying their reasons were good, but think about it for a second.
Gods answer to some people on earth being too violent was to violently kill nearly every man, woman, child, animal and plant.
And then there were those just enjoying their life. "shame on them. Kill them too, because I am the jealous desert storm god and they are laughing and having fun and not thinking about me..."
