  threads on the newer jw face of public "witnessing" have shared in common the astonishment that jws safely park themselves behind their literature trolleys and exercise incredibly little contact with passersby.

  whether the poster is talking about europe or the united states or australia, descriptions here are the same.. literature stands are protective sheilds behind which jws huddle, talking to each other, sipping on their espressos, whilst the disinterested world passes by.

  neither the jws nor the passersby catch each others eyes.

  It's because the reality is no witness has ever enjoyed talking to people about religion anymore than the people liked hearing about it. They just like hours to sooth fear obligation and guilt. Now they cam waste their life just wracking them up standing around

  they just posted the simplified august study watchtower on jw.org.. paragraph 11 of the "expectation!

  " article says this:.

  "so even if we feel that we have been waiting a long time, this does not mean that the end is far away or that it is not coming in our lifetime.".

  Same crap they elude to that, but in the fine print they day it just right so as not to be held to it too technically. this way they people hoping so desperately feel the watchtower just stated it is coming soon. While we read different. They didn't day it's coming they said it doesn't mean that it's not. Mind f#&$ers

  Why did the org "forgive" KH mortgages?

  i know this has been discussed, but i think it's good that topics like this get brought back up from time to time for the sake of newbies and lurkers, plus, i have a question (related at end of post).. the org brags about "forgiving" kh mortgages as if it's so loving and giving.

  i put the word in quotation marks because most of us realize it wasn't forgiving anything.

  the new arrangement should actually bring it far more money.. for example, suppose there are twenty congregations total.

  This is my conspiracy, but I think the IRS got'em. A non profit religion acting as a lender for loans? I think they may have thought they had a loop hole and didn't and it bit them in the ass.

  And they didn't forgive shit, just had to change the perception and what it was on paper. They have smart accountants.

  in speaking with one of my fellow heathen friends from this site i was talking about maslov's hierarchy of needs in an unrelated subject but i had an epiphany.

  witnesses are held at the third level and never make it to the oh so critical top two sections.

  True, and its interesting to see morality in two places, I think this shows the difference between extrinsic morals and true internal moral behavior of the self aware over indoctrination and institutional morals

  I believe the ones that can rise up the hierarchy will eventually see the organization for what it is and how it does nothing. Its not magic, its not the source of morality, its not actually improving a damn thing.

In speaking with one of my fellow heathen friends from this site I was talking about Maslov's Hierarchy of Needs in an unrelated subject but I had an epiphany. Witnesses are held at the third level and never make it to the oh so critical top two sections. Take a look. The idea is once one level is takem care of you can realize the next. I believe they are stuck in level three and they even have that twisted.

  Good read, my comment to lurkers is that even when i decided to leave this organization I still would have held that its wasn't a cult, because I didn't really understand was a dangerous cult really was, i changed that tune very much. Do the research, take the time. Many intelligent people can find themselves in these groups, and the witnesses are one of many that use the same tactics to a T.

  1. Read About what makes a cult a cult
  2. Really seriously and rationally compare the witnesses to this
  3. Research other groups (scientology etc) that use the exact same model
