That I do agree with Cappytan,
It is an easy out for us, but a reaffirmation that "people fully indoctrinated are the happiest!" When its really the opposite.
i was thinking about this the other day.. a common way for apostates to "fade" is to pretend to have depression or anxiety problems.. is it possible, that when apostates become known, the elders report to the society that said person was undergoing mental health problems?
i can see a scenario where the society then took those statistics that were reported and just decided, "well, it looks like the only ones leaving are those with mental diseases.".
oh, and not to mention the subliminal messages conspiracy theorists.

Some of my thoughts on this, I don't play the stress card too much, I hate the spiritually weak, moniker (i think you get it no matter what), but I tell them I am happier than ever, and that I was depressed when i was turning in hours and worried about nonsense.
I think the mentally diseased is 100% their fault or lets say 50/50. For me I was born in, I feel i would never have got involved if I wasn't. So lets say you join, I wouldn't call it disease, but being ultra religiously devout (cult) is like a mind virus, when you wake up, it does make you feel unstable, sometimes you flip out and lose your temper, you become obsessed with understanding real truth and it messes you up, then you get shunned and that makes you crazier. So I think the "mentally diseased" part comes from the effects of leaving a cult and losing your zen. When we appear to the RF zombies as obsessed and raving mad, because in some ways you do, and justifiably so. Important thing is to fight it.
a member of the writing department was gracious enough to allow me to interview him about the "overlapping generation" doctrine.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eo1o5qmagu.

I have a feeling we will have to do more collaborations

hey guys i just wanted to share my jw broadcast parody with you all.
i think some of you may find it humorous.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-kvrqwwgnq.
i often wonder if apostasy could be defined as the "silent problem", as the majority who leave for this reason choose to fade saying nothing.
in all the decades i was a witness i could probably count on 2 hands those who were disfellowshipped for apostasy.i must admit it wasn't until i came on the internet that i fully realise the depth and extent of the problem.
i think of that young girl high school speech that went viral, and you can't tell me all those 300000+ views were all none jws.
if witnesses knew how many faded walked amongst them they would plotz. It could unravel the whole thing.
The orgs stance on apostasy is both a problem and a solution, a frustrating symbiosis. Like the Matrix.
even if someone may have posted this, it's worth another post.. hilarious parody.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-kvrqwwgnq&feature=youtu.be.
i don't know if i have shared this with everyone, but there seems to be a new theocratic term, at least in my circuit.. the term is "final push.
" wtf does it mean?
well, an eldub said that the gb are "all in" with warwick and they might spend all their money on the project.
i've been thinking a lot lately about ego vs self.
i have also been trying to differentiate freudian model of ego, super & id, but more of a ego=false self vs soul=true self.
while there are many ego institutions out there, the witness reality buries its victims in a avalanche of ego.

While there are many ego institutions out there, the Witness reality buries its victims in a avalanche of ego. So much so that it insulates them from waking up. I almost feel unless you are predisposed to be searching and wanting to be your true self, you'll never break away.
Everyone deals with trying to balance ego and self, but in JW land this ego imbalance is reinforced constantly. If you understand some of the ideas of Ego vs Self, you know people closer to their ego, are miserable, and when you have experienced genuine happiness you have been honest with who you really are. This idea makes me constantly need to DA to cut any ego strings still attached to me, because I have see happiness without that shit. The witnesses are such masters at this that they blatantly admit to the need for you to deny who you really are constantly. Think about the individuals created by such a system. Why would anyone want any part of it. I say this as not some mystical/spiritual dogmatic thing about getting in touch with yourself, but a fundamental truth is that when ego is shed, you become naturally happy. Thats is honesty, that is truth. Not 7 old fellows in suits telling you what you should be doing because of their ego. Think about it.
