I was raised in as well. Don't consider myself that unintelligent, but it took me 30 years to get courage to be rational. I can relate to what you have posted here. One day I was watching some middle east atrocities, and I thought to myself, "if witnesses knocked on my door, would I even answer it? or would I straight up tell them get the f%$# off my porch? I probably would never even entertain this mess, so why was I in? It turned the key for me to question absolutely everything and give myself of the opportunity of coming in the truth instead of being raised. And I found it all to be utter crap. -

July 19th Watchtower Summary. Insanity
by Lemonp injust got back from the wt study and it overall was just so blindingly biased and leading.. i had to read it from the platform too, i hope they couldn't see the confounded look on my face as i read this craziness out!.
first we consider the faith of abel, enoch, noah, abraham, isaac and jacob, and moses.. all of these people are held up as sterling examples of blind faith, with the article pointedly saying that their imaginations sustained their faith in gods promises for them.
no mention anywhere at all that all of these characters saw and talked to angels, spoke to god himself, saw and performed miracles, or any of the other feats experienced by these characters.

Crazy guy, I think you are correct.
JWS were always a cult, but its not my grandpas cult anymore. I feel they are going through a shift and its causing them some identity crisis. They are trying to preserve membership while finding their new identity. The message is less dogmatic, and more emotional and topical while the cult tools are still strong.
Where is today's revelation book???
Where is the trinity brochure???
yea they were out there and crazy but the org had balls. Now its stand by this cart with your ipad and fantasize about petty lions.

How much damage has internet done against the The Watchtower Society ?
by opusdei1972 inin the beginning of internet the society was worried about the information published exposing its falsehood.
so, i wonder how many people lost the society on account of forums and web sites like this.

The "dangers of the internet" they've protested about were not dangerous to the member. They were dangers to then. And the dangers were not porn, etc. It was knowledge and truth. Any group describes knowledge as dangerous is in fact themselves dangerous. -

Persecution: Fight Against it, or Take it?
by Funchback inhello, folks.. jws, always highlighting that persecution is a sign that they are the true religion, look for ways to avoid being persecuted.
here are some recent examples from their own website:.
regarding jws in the ukraine: (jws) remain hopeful that local authorities will uphold the fundamental human right to freedom of religion.

Remember when the branch davidians were persecuted by the federal government?
Cults are gonna catch heat. Witnesses should are no different. Unfortunately that's easier to see for us awake folks

Isn't that what they use to deter people from escaping prison?
by dubstepped inthe title is what a person today told me as i was explaining the changes i've seen and made in fading from the watchtower.
he got a smile on his face and asked that question about watch towers being manned with men in guns to prevent people from escaping prison.
man, i never thought about it like that, but he nailed it with such a simple observation.

Why did Jesus have to die?
by Crazyguy inlet's think about this for a bit.
adam was tempted and sinned by eating of the fruit.
he missed out on immortality by being denied the tree of life.

To lurkers: Abrahamic religin is death obsessed. And jesus story (like it or not folks) is a story about HUMAN SACRAFICE. Plain and simple. Your Christian religion revolves around the human sacrafice of Jesus according to your book. YHWH accepts human sacrafice.
But the story of "jesus", virgin birth, death, resurecton, and more is just a retelling of older pagan stories. Do some research kids and wake up. Points like the one made in this post should stimulate your rational mind or engage CD. Try to stimulate and go further.
Also couldn't he has just let herod kill the baby jesus. Voila! Done

My introduction and confession
by elderINewton inwell another big bad elder here just wanting to say sorry.. i'm sorry that so many were treated like crap, and shown that god's love is not to be found around jehovah's witnesses.
i'm sorry that inadvertently i've likely taught many to judge and as such see that racism permeates every corner of the jw world, else why else would someone be of the world, or even inactive.
i'm sorry i sat in on a jc, and voted to df.
