  Religion is mental illness. Being something like a Jehovah's Witness forces you to turn off and rewire natural empathy. People who commit such heinous crimes as this also lack empathy. He may have no longer been a witness, but with filling a child's head with stories of the flood, the hebrew genocide of canaan, losing family and friends at Armageddon, can disrupt "mental health". With this person we may never know if the witness environment had anything to do with exacerbating his (to quote simon) asshole nature.

  Any time you can override or ignore your empathy for another innocent human to kill them in this psychotic premeditate way, I think its safe to say you have a mental problem, from within, or from an institution like a religious or militant cult.

  Wife Equates Having A Good Marriage With Being "Spiritual"

  so i've noticed lately that my wife seems to think that in order to have a good marriage both people must be "spiritual".

  she thinks being close as a family is all about family worship night, field service and praying together.

  i know where these ideas are coming from but it is very hard to combat them.

  They also think witnesses are the happiest people on earth, when studies who actually something different.

  Witness marriage is happy for the same reason the Stepford wives are happy.

  Being a witness is no guarantee of a happy/good marriage. In fact I believe the cult adds pressure to a marriage. But in a high control group it is possible to have a high control marriage. Not necessarily happy

  Its called eisegesis vs. exegesis

  While exegesis is the process of drawing out the meaning from a text in accordance with the context and discoverable meaning of its author, eisegesis occurs when a reader imposes his or her interpretation into and onto the text.

  Most religious people actually commit eisegesis. The witnesses are pros at it. All thought they try to soften it. They still say Job was real, the flood was real, and on and on and on. They take them as true stories because it lends to their idea of what the bible is.

  On another note selling a gun you have purchased illegally without going through proper channels is a bad idea. I'll shed a little light on that as well. During a past purchase of a new firearm, the dealer handed me a small manilla envelope, closed with a slug in it. He says you get one of these, and the federal government gets one of these. Just a little reminder. The gun has a finger print in a database and it is associated with whomever owns that gun. Now if I get a bright idea to sell mine off the books to some wacko what want to do a drive by, and the police investigate, guess who they are coming to see? Me. Just something else to consider.

  I advise not listening to the biased media. As i said it all has an agenda.

  Well the media is biased in all directions. Im not a right wing nutjob, Im not a gun "nut".

  I'm a pretty normal person who happens to own a firearm. Knows how to keep it safe from other people. Knows how to use it safely.

  Guns have existed in America for a long time, MASS SHOOTINGS (that I promise you the disgusting media drools over) are relatively new. Since the Mid 80's they really took off. then with columbine that ushered in a new era in the America mass shooting age. Broadcast murder. Watch it live! America didn't discover the gun in the 80's, something changed no? what changed in the 80's?

  A lot of sweeping statements are made because everyone is pissed off
