Another one bites the dust...

Hang in there buddy. And I agree with this:
For your own health and well-being, you need to stop going to the meetings. Let her go alone.
I was going through something similar not too long ago, the anxiety of everyone in my family against me, and wife (pioneer) being one of them. She has changed so much I hardly recognize her now. When she was with me on the receiving end of the my families behavior, I think her rose colored glasses with the cult came off. She saw my health (mental, emotional, and physical) being assaulted by her beloved religion.
A lot of this anxiousness comes from feeling trapped. You need to try to change your perspective so that neither of you feel trapped.
saying that she never thought she'll belong to the group of women who show up to meetings alone.
This shows me progress but still being so early on in waking up. You guys need to band together to get healthy and stable. The FOG of this org plays on everyone not wanting to be humiliated or embarrassed by being weak or in danger. When I got passed that, shit man, I felt w world better. I look at witness as pathetic, scared, sheep. I don't give 2 f-cks what they think. And I never give a sign of weakness or sadness because I am not, I am happy healthy and far more adjusted than most all of them and it shows, I am proud to be an inactive fader in their midst. So I enjoy putting that in their face (in a nice way). they can think whatever they want, I am doing me. many socialize with me often, at first I think it was weird for them, but i refuse to play by the cult road map. She needs to see this and so do you. You have to find that place.
lions don't lose sleep
over the opinions of sheep
Hang in there my friend.

Should I get babtized?
by BlackWolf ini know this sounds like a ridiculous question but i was talking with my mom in the car today and of course we got on the topic of getting babtized again.
she told me that jehovah holds me accountable for my sins regardless of wether i am babtized or not so i have no reason to be holding back because it won't change anything.
my parents are the type of super strict jw who will shun you just for not being a witness.

Don't do it. The greatest prison people love in is the fear of what others think. Free yourself from that. -

Caption This Photo From The January Study Edition
by JW_Rogue inso as some are probably aware the january study edition has two articles on the anointed.
one basically discouraging people from believing they are anointed and another about how ones should view partakers.
this photo is from the second article:.

Evolution and Atheism - please help
by Fernando innot being familiar with either, my question is:.
what is the relationship between evolution and atheism?.
i'd love to hear from anyone and everyone, and also from any perspective.. without limiting the conversation in any way, i would of course also appreciate comments that are simple, clear, direct and correct (as i don't have the capacity to do a phd in evolution or atheism)..

They should not be thought of as being related. Atheism is not a religion and evolution is not it's dogma.
Evolution is related to science and evidence. Often once people begin seeing things this way a biproduct of this is atheism or agnosticism.
They are separate things. Evolution does pose problems for creationists and Abrahamic religions that try to explain everything from the perspective of bronze age goat herders.
Evolution = there is evidence of evolution.
Atheism = there is no evidence of "god"
Not really the same thing.

Did you get " Counseled " about the Music you Listened to While you were a JW ?
by flipper infrom the time i was a small boy - i loved rock n' roll music.
beatles, rolling stones, led zeppelin, hendrix.
i started getting slighted for the music i listened to as i lay in my bedroom listening on headphones to led zeppelin's song " black dog " at age 14 with my elder dad looking suspiciously at me as i'm rocking out .

My music era was the 90's and even though I listened to gangster rap, I mostly took heat for the alternative music of the time and the old stuff too.
I had family members that spoke of all their scary experiences back when they used to listen to led zep. Funny i had all the stuff and no demons were summoned...
Also was told that soundgarden, nirvana, alice in chains etc was depressing and would cause suicide. Shit... I think that music kept me from committing suicide being in a damn cult!
metal, alternative and rap, I got the most crap over classic rock and alternative. Silly stupid cult.

Gay advice from the Governing Body
by Listener inaccording to them you are not gay if you are attracted to the same sex, it's just hormones and you might grow out of it.. i wonder what hormones in particular they are talking about and if they feel that a female who goes through menopause is in danger of turning gay or even if taking hormones will adjust your thinking?.
this is from the wt org website.
https://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/family/teenagers/ask/pressure-to-be-gay/.

The slow trickle has become a steady stream!
by freddo inin the last few weeks it seems that instead of one or two new posters a week we seem to be getting several every day.
many seem to be long time jw's who are troubled by the path of the organisation.
this is really encouraging to those of us who have been here sometime.. welcome!

in the 80's we had the revelation book, the cold war, etc everyone was trying to decode everything political leaders said to try and hear "peace & security". who was the king of the north and south.. yadda yadda yadda. What now?
I feel we are far from those days and the rank & file are lacking something to keep their eschatology attention. Its utterly redundant and boring with embarrassing new advancements that people say they love, but lets face it, it smacks of mega church culture now.

Analytical trend after broadcasts?
by juandefiero insimon,.
i'm not sure if you ever share analytics data.. but i've been noticing a trend.
it seems that every time a new jw broadcast, we get a seeming increase in new members the week after.. does the data show that?.

Yes I wonder if its a chain reaction, I believe the org has a lot who are uncomfortable with were its going, some maybe lurking, after another wacky broadcast they finally feel so uncomfortable with it they go from lurker to poster, other lurkers see their first posts and are inspired to do the same.
That's my imagined scenario. If all the people waking up knew how many of them there were they'd probably walk out in droves. This fear of "its just you" is a powerful control tool.
