Elders are quite harmless when ignored.
True statement. This is where their power ends. Once they can't make you feel the pressure of guilt and obligation they become just what they really are. Nothing .
well the "pious" elders tuned out to be " super pious" and very good at reciting from the " very super pious" elders manuel, but actually " super pious" elders are quite harmless when ignored.. as for my former friends in the congregation, well throughout the ages there have always been people prepared to stand up for truth and friendship, sadly my " former" friends from the congregation proved not to be people of such noble character, instead only capable of giving short contrived speeches about why they missed me at meetings, snooze, and no great loss, as i have found the community outside the w.t organisation positively buzzing with unconditional friendship.. anyway i feel i have overcome all hurdles in my exit from the " w.t" except one, which is how i deal with my disrespectful father.
even when i was a witness in good standing, he had a pretty disrespectful and rude word power, now it's completely inappropriate.
i have tried pointing this out, even had long periods without contact, but i don't like doing that as it denies my mum seeing her grandson.. however what i have concluded is that this isn't w.t at fault.

ezekiel 37:15-17 prophesies about two sticks being joined together to become 1. one stick represented the two tribe kingdom of judah and the other stick represented the 10 tribe of israel (ephraim).
the article explains how the coming together of these two sticks meant the reuniting of these tribes in 537 bce.the modern day fulfillment was previously taught to mean that the anointed had once again come together in unity in these last days.the july watchtower now explains that one stick, the stick of judah, represents the anointed and the other stick, the stick of ephraim, represents the other sheep.
they further explain that since 1919 god's people have gradually reunited to become one flock.they are now saying that the other sheep are represented by 10 tribes of israel.
They are doing what the North Korean pseudo-religious-nationalistic cult does. Makes understanding the religion such a cluster-f*ck that all the adherents (although confused) nod and agree out of fear of being the one who doesn't get it. Works like a charm.
These convoluted new light circle jerks don't even interest witnesses anymore. If you asked them about this one, or the generation or the memorial date, anything! they will give you this look.
i wanted to write my experience on how my husband helped me see the ttatt (the truth about the truth).
first, let me mention that he wrote his own experience a couple months ago under the name sanchy.
for his story please click here….. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5148261828526080/walking-thin-line-resigning-elder
are df, da and apostates still shunned?
are each treated differently?
i heard a secondhand report that they seemed to have eased up on this practice ...
Im not even DA'd or DF'd but still shunned by most my family.
wow this is interesting!
i think how much emphasis this puts on "loyalty" shows their is an issue.
they're trying to plug the wholes as much and quickly as possible.
Fixed it!

just for the mere fact that i wasn't anger and bitter and ready to declare the gb the sociopathic criminals that so many here ascribe to, my initial question digressed to bickering over ad hominem attacks against the gb and not my beliefs that i'm questioning.
some did give me some help on my questions.
I hate it here, let me continuously stop by to say why
it's just so weird to me.
for a group that is against idolatry so much and yet each person has to "touch" the bread and wine.. one lady was standing and holding a baby.
she called the server over just so she could put her thumb on the bread and wine.. did jesus ever clarify what he wanted them to do in remembrance of him?
in our congregation, the brother mentioned nisan 14 a dozen times.. i thought, with the fact the jewish calendar has nisan 14 in april this year (april 22 i believe) that the nisan 14 thing would be hushed up.. was it mentioned where you attended?.
rub a dub .

You can only play the hand you were dealt. I try not to have regrets about my mom raising me in the religion. There are a lot of good people in it that I still call friends. And definitely some good things can come from a systematic life with boundaries. It's best not to be bitter, I try to only look back to see how far I have come.
And when it comes to labeling EXJW that label can mean anything, really the only thing all these people have in common is they were once JW, beyond that there are all types. You say exjw cult? Well honestly I don't think there could ever be that much unity in this community. And I am not saying that as good or bad, just the way it is. Once people leave they go a million different directions. I am forever fascinated by this "thing" that had so much influence in my life, how it worked, what's happening to it and so on. I had my bitter moments and lived through them.
For the record any group with as much influence as watchtower is not good. The Jones town crew wasn't drinking Koolaid all along, and radical Islamists were at one time not so radical.
Religion is a social technology of bygone era, it just happens to still work.
f-ck "god" and f-ck religion. Time to evolve.
