a few folks i know were vineyard attenders and i've heard many positive things about it. the nearest one to me is in Manchester i think.

Have u found a new faith since leaving?
by chuckyy ini was just wondering how many of you have found a "new faith" since leaving the jw"s. for instance, are u a member of another church, another religion, or are u now a committed atheist.
if u have found a new faith, what convinces you that its the right one?.

I'm not saying i have no faith in God, just no faith in Organized Religion. I found it necessary for me to have my 'holy fix' when i left the witnesses by attending Church, it did me good and taught me a lot of valuable lessons and helped me see what was what in life. The Witnesses were my Heroine, the Church was my Methadone.

depends, when i'm down the glass is rarely full but on a good day its overflowing, i never got the middle road unfortunately (although thanks to a strict regime someone here helped me with, its improved greatly!)

Learning your not all wise
by KW13 inas a witness, among the rank and file your a regular troop but out in the field, your a specialist with knowledge the world doesnt have, your special and all wise.
its a huge fall from grace when you become an apostate, some of us are still in denial!.
how long did it take you to see your not all wise?

How long did it take you to see your not all wise? The first realisation i'd been a total prat was when i first left, all the times people urged me to leave, the apostate fruitcakes outside the convention, they were acting out of love and i'd rejecting the actual truth, and openly ridiculed them. It is my goal to join the apostates outside the convention one year!

Next step- I said goodbye to my best friend- and she was terrified of me!
by New light for you inso the next step i realized after meeting with the elders monday night was to say some "goodbyes" while i'm still able to.
now, the elders kept "wanting" me to "fade" .
.. again, many people are telling me that they might be nice, but when they report back to the whole body, they could decide something else.

i'm sure thats very upsetting for you, but at least if anything she will remember what you did and how you did it. the witnesses make this such a complicated process, and they make it your fault (not out of evil usually but by brainwashing and confusion, an awful conflict. everlasting life or a nice friendship...oh the choice).
maybe how you behaved will help her leave one day, it might put her mind at ease that a kind person is waiting on the outside for her, that is sometimes enough to help someone leave and make that process a positive one.

surely they must see that its not quick, rushed, evil or anything if they take into consideration that it affects whether or not you live forever, how you live and all kinds of things and that a matter of life and death from their perspective and yours isnt made lightly?.

I love my Wife and Son and my mother. If i believed me not being a Witness would ruin their chances of living forever in a beautiful paradise, i'd be a witness now, again. Nothing gives them the authority to judge our decisions and to then believe they are superior. Sure occasionally we laugh at the Witnesses, at their expense but its also a laugh at what we once were and that comes with a new kind of wisdom. The acceptance that nothing is 100% good, nothing is safe or pure and we are not untouchable.

Funny/strange things you ate as a kid.

we had an old dry tank dump in the back that filled up with water.
there were tons of frogs that showed up and started breeding.. i was looking at them on the edge of the water through my .22 scope.
