  anyone up for starting an apostate quick build team.

  we'll turn up in the middle of the night, saturday night / sunday morning, at a chosen kingdom hall and brick the doors up so that no one can get in for the public talk !.

  i have been fading away, and considered fully "inactive" for over 2 years now.

  my wife is still a very active jw, and she brings my 2 children (5 & 3) to the meetings and service on a regular basis.

  The short answer is yes.

  Here is the long one...

  Witnesses take advantage of easily moulded minds, whether they mean to or not. Youths miss out on their childhood and may waste a long part of their life waiting for the 'end'. What happens when they are bitter or hurt for not having tried things in 50 years time, when they see the witnesses for what they are.

  "Apostasy" Sucks (sometimes)

  i'm so frustrated with the challenges associated with "spreading the bad news about jehovah's witnesses" i find when i debate with a jw in the company of "civilians" (people who know nothing of jw's) they come off smelling like a rose and i seem like a disgruntled nut.. just needed to vent!.

  Remember...you don't come with magazines, you don't come with a MISSION or task in hand.

  Your the honest individual who finds their own resources and information, and even checks to make sure its not biased - Witnesses live on cloud nine and avoid looking around, but yet encourage others to study their religion....mmm not fair!

  raymond franz was a member of the governing body and was a jw for many years till he left.. he wrote a book which provides a great insight into jw's but what is really good about it is he isn't bitter when he comes across and so far i am really enjoying the read.. also in there are copies of letters sent from him to the society or the other way around and i recommend anyone who can find it should read it!.

  Out of all those i would say that the one that says "salvation must be earned through works" is the best one, with solid scriptural argument even from a NWT Bible!

  I know of people who had a really nice car and home and yet got a smaller car and a smaller house for 'fear of stumbling others'. I wonder if this was prompted by the elders...

  Having lots i suppose it not being materialistic, if you have for example a successful business but other things come first then i don't suppose you would even get any attention.

  Fortunately i am not a JW and i don't have to worry about how well i do, but i know for a fact the society encourage people to keep their eye simple and even young people are encouraged not to go for big-time education. Instead do ministry all day every day (do some live off benefits...so basically the taxpayer keeps the witnesses?)
