lol, i dont know about you guys, but also the robotic responses from all jw's. If you say, well actually i go to church up the road, they say oh its nice to see you have a faith BUT....where does that answer come? the REASONING BOOK! its like being given the answers for a test, cheating, how can their replies be heartfelt if they are practised responses.

Offering Mags
by KW13 inremember the whole way you were trained to go on the ministry, notice how the watchtower was usually not always i accept hidden behind the awake.
so for example, we are asking people today about terrorism, and what they think the solution is...bla bla and in go both magazines and they hope that the person reads the watchtower.
can i ask, do you view this as just a small trick or deliberate dishonesty?

Have the UK JWs been stepping up their patrols lately?
by figureheaduk inhi everyone, sorry i've not been here for ages............... anyways, lately our house has been fetting quite a few knocks on the door by a jw who lives on my street.
sometimes he's alone, sometimes he's accompanied, but the odd thing is is that before we could go months without a visit from the wt's foot soldiers, and now lately we've been getting visits once or twice a week.
if we realise it's them we don't answer the door, but every now and then we get caught off guard and have to explain nicely that we're busy and not really interested.

what gets me is that they use 1st john to say that we must work for christ's gift of life...OH and what about ephesians saying its from faith not works.Wonder when the society will make it so you pioneer without certain amount of hours or widen the goal posts so people will make their time and in return make the society meet its figures/targets.
Surely christ would know where the person with the right heart is and present the opportunity in some other way, not just on doors. The WBT go after a fly with a bazooka and do EVERY door so they can't miss, then get all excited when someone is interested.

Lazy Witnesses
by ellderwho inmy son was leaving the house saturday morning around 8:00 am, the lazy dub could not muster up the strength to get out from behind the wheel of her dub carrying minivan to pawn off the tower rag.
as my son walked to his car, dub lady is waving the tower rag as if " come over here and get this rag so i can count this as time.".
what has this world come to?

Then next time offer him something in return, maybe in a few weeks give him a recycled paper cup and say this was made from your magazine!

"A Time to Speak"----When? (with scans).
by Atlantis in(adds found on pictiger are not associated with jwd) urls for watchtower scans can be found at the bottom.
(from kent's old archive).
this was the title on an article in the watchtower 1987 9/1, pages 12-15. this article should scare any employer that do have employees that are jehovah's witnesses.

Thing is, Mary should keep her nose out. I find that awful, if God is everywhere he doesn't need snitches who just turn people in. Its not like you see in the local paper, this is peoples confidential records.

Not fair
by KW13 ini just want to get these thoughts out of my head and somewhere else so i can read them and make sense of them.
what's on my mind is how most jw's are genuinely wanting to serve their god.
that i think for your average jw is a fact though sometimes we all know they do unkind or stupid things (like humans do).

I just want to get these thoughts out of my head and somewhere else so i can read them and make sense of them. What's on my mind is how most JW's are genuinely wanting to serve their God. That i think for your average JW is a fact though sometimes we all know they do unkind or stupid things (like humans do). Thing is, i find it sad that despite these people being so genuine, they've been mislead and lied to. Their Cult does its best to keep its members. Family, friends are what we all hold dear. Who is the WBT that they might ruin directly or indirectly someone elses life? I think how women/men come before a body of Elders to be judged on whether they should be disfellowshipped, its not done lovingly, and people are totally humilated. I feel sad for the JW's that might read this and think, he just doesn't understand the 'truth' and that i am after the downfall of their faith. NO that is not what this topic or this forum is about, its about choice and the fact that the Society take that choice or present biased options to people who are like lambs to the slaughter. My mum is the first thing on my mind, if she is so christian then how was i thrown out of my home by her? All i wanted was to discover christ, in her mind i didn't know enough to make that decision...oh but i can knock on the door of people and offer them magazines? Lies lies lies were against, lets hope our honesty appeals to the right people!

Depression, however its caused does affect judgement and its sad to have it, i've been depressed and i know that the thing we need most is to get rid of the problem(s) that are causing the anxiety, but Suicide is the wrong choice, its final and brutal. Likely people depressed might think they have an issue, and are looking to blame themselves for their situation or even blame others. I know that situations exist where the only way out seems to be suicide, but thats not a solution. Anyone who is feeling down, please accept davids offer and even PM me if you want to talk and depending on how you feel, as soon as i can i will telephone. Personally i have been near suicide, i let everything get me down and nothing seemed to work out, life was falling apart with me leaving school early because of depression, then getting kicked out of college for drinking a LOT and coming in class drunk. Stepdad was a bully, mum didn't believe me and when i started church she kicked me out. i know my problems may not equal yours and i am not 'qualified' to deal with these things other than by experience. The key thing to remember is, YOU WANT to do something about your situation, your just not sure how. Give Dave and others that offer here a chance, we will listen.
