  Who cares about the memorial?

  i don't.... yesterday, my mother finally asked me if i would consider attending the memorial.

  i just rather chuckled... "no, i don't think so.

  for starters, tonight, i'm going to hang out at my local church's neighborhood gathering and get some food, then i'm heading off to the local synagouge to celebrate my hebrew roots.

  Cooking dinner, watch a little telly, have a glass of vino, and go to bed early. Oh, and I'll check to see if there really is a full moon tonight...it's cloudy here today. I've taken note, that every year, it's always rainy on the night of the memorial, and it's always cleared up after the ceremony is over.

  I know, I REALLY do need to move on.....

  thing is...its raining now!!!! BTW do you go to bed at Sun down out of respect?

  my husband and i for the first time had an honest discussion regarding jw doctrines, he believes in the flawlessness of the society, so he is not easy to talk to.

  he did agree however that if 607 is not correct that the society has it all wrong.

  well to say the least that was an interesting turn of events.

  The Society do tours in the British Musuem so get stuff from there, encyclopedias like Britannica, encarta e.t.c....just go to the website and search on there, society's stuff.

  this is the very 1st memorial where i am making the stand not to go.at this point family & close friends now know my decision.. i am totally against blood issue/shunning/child abuse policy and i am proud of myself for making the stand not to please others and go through the motions with this corrupt & unloving organisation.

  hopefully this sends out a message to all who think i am still a jw sympathiser.. please post your 1st time experiences........

  Hey, i was on the Theocratic Ministry school giving talks, and i too wanted to be baptized!

  If its the truth and about God then why these things that happen to people who for example have a question or just want to check things out properly. Sickoflies posted up his Judicial commitee with the elders (in form of sound file) and you'll see how they treat people with questions AFTER baptism.

  rockkchick30 your a good person by the sounds of it. And WITH an Open mind

  When i thought it was the truth, the ORG was my world. Everything i did and did not do was because of what i was taught. Ultimately it tore my family apart. When i decided to start church and leave the Witnesses i was kicked out of my home, my stepdad (aiming to be a M. Servant and maybe an elder) used to hit me, mum didnt do anything about it.

  Truthfully, i've only felt happier since i've left. It ruined my high school education due to depression e.t.c at only 14!!

  Whats sad is that the people at the hall think its the truth and the information they present is all they are given. The society stops them looking anywhere else. Whatever you do, make sure you research the things you come across properly.

  Why not start a new topics introducing yourself and ask some questions there, then we can work on giving you answers.
