Jesus Christ Superstar
by FlyingHighNow inappreciation for the original soundtrack for the rock opera theater cast and for the movie that soon followed.
but any comments on any of the versions or stories you have, thoughts you have on this masterpiece by andrew lloyd webber would be cool.. first question: ian gillan, the original jesus, of deep purple fame on the soundtrack from 1970?.
or ted neely, a texas rocker who did the role of jesus in the movie?.

I met Ted Neeley two-three years ago. Apparently he lives in my town. I was shopping at Trader Joe's just before Thanksgiving and I noticed this (fairly short) guy with his long hair in a kind of ratty pony-tail. I don't know why - but I am a 'noticer' of people, always have been. Anyway, I was looking in the deli case, standing next to him and I said, "There's a familiar face." I still did not recall where I knew him from. And I wasn't totally sure that I knew him at all. So he says, "Oh, I've performed in a few things."
Well, we stood and chatted for about 15 minutes - he called his wife and daughter over and introduced us, and he invited me to come backstage if I were ever at one of his shows. We talked about Carl (Judas) who had performed at a church Mr Bee used to attend in Los Angeles.
Honestly, I could barely get away from him - and I think it might have been because he is not often recognized in real life and he seemed very pleased. A super friendly, and gracious man. However - not as hot in real life as when he is singing onstage.
It was a nice experience.

A note to Americans from Tagg Romney: you can’t punch the president because the Secret Service will get you. Mitt’s eldest son said on a radio interview in North Carolina on Wednesday that he didn’t like the way President Obama called his dad a “liar” at the town-hall debate. Tagg’s reaction: “Jump out of your seat and you want to rush down to the stage and take a swing at him. But you know you can't do that because, well, first because there's a lot of Secret Service between you and him, but also because that's the nature of the process." Tagg’s right, it’s all about democracy or something.
Your dad's a liar, Tagg. Wanna punch me?

Someone, in his zeal to stoop as low and mean as possible, uses a phrase he does not know the meaning of - 'rump sprung.'

The US attorneys office handles all those inmate suits- I doubt that Obama even is bothered about them.
Exactly.

Yes. Absolutely. We went through this here a couple of years ago and my research uncovered lots of actual documented suits against not just Obama, but other recent presidents on a variety of issues. I posted several documents at the time. Some are rather comedic if not pathetic. Prisoners bring suits againt the president because of prison conditions, mentally imbalanced people bring suits based on hearing voices and wild conspiracy theories.
I am willing to try re-trace some of these affadavits if you are sceptical, but it takes a lot of cut and paste (which is lately in disfavor here at JWN). If you don't want to take my word for it, I will try to dredge some of it up at a later date. It is late here, I have golf all day tomorrow and then the Bees are going out of town for a week.

Obama is being sued as a private citizen running for office- he was notified - it is a serious mistake for a private citizen to ignore a subpoena, don't you agree?
moshe, Obama cannot possibly respond to every crackpot (sorry ) lawsuit. Besides, as far as the judicial system is concerned, this issue is settled. Unless Orly has new and compelling evidence, she might as well fold her tent and steal away into the night.

Do you have any idea how many people (crazies, prisoners, mentally ill, etc.) try to sue the President of the United States every day for various reasons?
