countries like guatemala have declared a national emergency and are allocating funds to small farmers to increase the use of fungicides and pesticides on their coffee plants.
columbia, known for its arabica coffee plants, has seen production fall over 30% due to the 'rust' and in other central american countries the loss has been over 50%.. .

The heavy use of herbicides plus other industrial farming practices such as mono-crops, has led to tolerant "super-weeds" that grow strong and tough enough to break farm machinery.
Meanwhile, Monsanto gobbles up enormous profits through their near-monopoly and the world's food sources are increasingly threatened.

by Earnest ini understand that the objection to blood transfusions by jehovah's witnesses is purely a scriptural one.
whether or not there are medical benefits to avoiding blood transfusions is, or should be, irrelevant.
however, for those who are not convinced by jw understanding of the scriptures in this regard, and those who don't believe either in the bible and/or in god, the fact that blood transfusion is associated with increased mortality in heart attacks may be of interest.. a systematic search of studies published between january 1, 1966, and march 31, 2012, was conducted using medline, embase, cinahl, scopus, web of science, and cochrane central register of controlled trials databases.

What is the overall context within which these conspiracy theories are developed?
One broad generalization is that conspiracy theories seem to primarily be the province of the right wing. The RW distrusts government the most, wants government to shrink to nothing, does not see any useful function for government and actively works to undermine the authority and powers of the government. It is logical that they would most strongly support the notion that the government is lying to us about everything.

I'm not sure that qualified as a "theory."
Consider that the right wing faction were quite open about their plans for Clinton just as they have been about Obama (" The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.")
Therefore it is a demonstrated fact, not a theory.

by exwhyzee inmy sister in law has been shunned by the family since she da'd herself at the age of 18 and moved out of the house.
i always insisted that my wife keep in contact with her and made sure she knew she had a soft place to land,with us, should she need it.
even at the risk of it getting us in hot water with the pioneer,elder,bethelite family members there was no way we were going to let her disappear into the wild blue yonder on her own.
