My 9th Year On Here........

i joined this board 9 years ago today......i can't believe it's been that long.
i miss alot of the ones that were on here when i first joined: unclebruce, dr. jekyll, gumby, kw13, littletoe, xena, simplesally, dansk, bendrr, englishman, ozziepost, luna, brummie, juni, buttlight.......we had a lot of fun on the board but it's nice that there's alot of newbies on here too.......plus, i ain't the only old timer on here!

Do you think the British are a proud nation?
by not bitter ini think we are to a degree but i think its on a different level to the americans.
the impression i get (from watching us tv and news) is that the majority of americans come across as being proud to be american and quite a possitive nation.
whereas us brits will display pride as a nation when we have to.

Poles apart in this regard. Britain has a long tradition of domination, but has been humbled. The US is a young nation and just hasn't gotten there yet.

Tonight I disassociated myself - after 24 years - had 2 hour meeting with Elder

OVER ONE MILLION GREEKS ON THE STREETS PROTESTING TODAY...
by JustHuman14 inmore than one million people are out in the streets today in athens, greece, protesting against the new financial measures that the government is trying to pass.. the building of the greek parliament is blocked by protesters.
situation started to get bad, since the police had a clash with a group of "anarchist".
i guess we are all anarchists in greece, since we are looking for a better future for us and our children.. the corrupted governments that ruled this country from 1974, when dictatorship ended, have lead to poverty 11 million greeks.

The chickens are coming home to roost for socialist governments all over the world. The US is coming late to the party but will get to this point eventually thanks to big unions and progressive libs, ala, the Wisconsin shake down.
Amazing that those who are totally dependent upon the benefits won by unions are now turning upon their brethren who are struggling for some semblance of the same benefits. As if those hypocrites "earned" the healthcare, insurance, pensions, etc., they enjoy - earned in many instances by their long-suffering spouses. No wonder the GOP is coming to be known as the "I've got mine" party.

i found the woman of my dreams!
by varian inlast weekend i had a date.
i immidaiately fell in love.
we met the following day again, and arranged another date for tomorrow.. well, yesterday she sent me a text message, stating that she no longer has an interest in seeing me again, because she discovered other pics of myself on other dating web sites.

This POV smacks of desperation or just poor judgment. When I was dating, guys who said stuff like this turned me off. So, you're "in love with me" without even taking the time to really know me? You have projected your ideal onto a person who is complex and unique and deserves to be known for herself, which can only be done over time. Thus, you come across as desperate or shallow or both. Personally, I would not have given you a second chance.
Take time to get to know and understand yourself and what you want in a partner. Slow down!
