For every one of these, there are X number of accidental shootings because of a gun in the house.
Now, if I were the woman who shot the intruder, I would be thrilled beyond belief that I had thusly defended my family. But I also have personally worked with a woman whose 12 year old son accidentally shot his 11 year old brother. Their family was destroyed. All because there was a gun in the house. How do you want your family destroyed - an armed intruder or an accident?
Fact is - the odds - statisically - are against.

I can draw up any emotion from my well of a life lived sad and despairing and use it objectively in my writing.
How well I understand. The ability to stand outside oneself and be able to describe one's despair is the ultimate survival tool. You do it well and graciously.

Anyone Else See Les Miserables?
by BizzyBee ini went to see it today - by myself (mr bee is on a golf junket).
i was glad that that i was by myself because i cried so much at the end, i wouldn't have wanted to be with anyone who wasn't crying - and that would not have been mr bee!.
les miserables the current film is adapted from what is considered one of the half-dozen greatest novels of the past 150 years and one of the longest novels ever written.

Ee-hah! Don't hold back, fedup!
This is a movie that does grow on one. Do yourself a favor and just suspend criticism and become immersed in the story and the music.
In the bag for Hugh Jackman - his performance is incredible - should win the Oscar.

Oh, Shamus!
That part was painful - I admit was wanting him to end it all to spare Jean Valjean, but I couldn't believe he would land right on the ledge! Ouch!
Actually, his singing sort of grew on me - but I could see how it would be considered awful.
All in all, the whole movie was a leap of tolerance outside one's usual comfort zone - bad skin, bad teeth, bad singing, etc.
BUT - Hugh Jackman was a total awesome hunk!

I'm just surprised to find out that in a weeks time from announcing your marriage hubby is off on golf junket already.
Yeah, me, too, that rat-bastard!
Actually, we are both retired (well, he, semi-) and our lives are one pro-longed honeymooon, so I don't resent his trips with golf buds. We have been together for eight years, and he has given me a life I would only ever had dreamed of. We go to Cabo San Lucas together for a week next month (and again in May) and France in July.
He goes to Ireland with his golf buds in September and I have a couple of weeks all to myself, (which I love). I was single for eighteen years and having a husband who travels independently (or with me) is the best of both worlds.
