"People often wonder if deaf people can drive, get married, or raise a family."
by cedars ini've personally never wondered that, but apparently some people do.... (see 00:40 in the video below).

I watch videos like this and it causes me sadness because on the surface it makes a lot of sense and it should work to build happy families. But I spent years feeling like a failure because it never worked. I wondered often why, if I was trying as hard as I could, why it didn't work. My heart ached because our family was never that ideal family. When I got married it still didn't work. We never matched the stories or demonstrations. It's not real.
Since we left our family has healed and drawn closer. We have our problems and will need to improve but things are better. We are happier to attend church than the weekly guil lectures at the hall.

Bible Writers not just ignorant "goat herders"
by applehippie inreally, the bible was written by nothin' but goat herders?
i don't post much but this does irk me.
yes a few may have been shepherds or fisherman, but a fair amount were far more educated and were professionals in their fields of occupation.

Well, once again it has been shown to me that I should not even try- I am not a skilled debater. I'm a reader. I see over and over that anyone who says that believe the Bible (and there is certainly a lot of room in that statement) is tromped on and disrespected. But my point is still valid. I was specifically adressing the utter lack of credit and respect given to people in those ancient days; they were a lot more savvy than any of you want to think. History is amazing and fascinating and stranger sometimes than any fiction. But most people today would rather believe in pseudo science than scripture.

Do your homework- Still being used today for good reasons:
http://www.ehow.com/how_8274906_use-manure-fuel.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dry_animal_dung_fuel
Why it is used and benefits
The M.N. Yavari, of Peru built by Thames Iron Works, London in 1861-62 had a Watt steam engine (powered by dried lama dung) until 1914
Dry animal dung is:
- Cheaper than most modern fuels
- Efficient
- Alleviates local pressure on wood resources
- Readily available - short the walking time required to collect fuel
- No cash outlays necessary for purchase (can be exchanged for other products)
- Less environmental pollution
- Safer disposal of animal dung
- Sustainable and renewable energy source

OK, but I was more or less commenting on a culture and time we are not familiar with. Those people were a lot smarter and more cultured than we give them credit for. Their lifestyle was not that primitive. The attitude I was speaking to is that of judging a time and people by our standards of living.
And it's a good excuse for not having to listen to what the writers of the Bible said, isn't it?

What bothers me is the complete mis-application of the passage. Ezekiel was speaking to other exiles in Babylon, telling them that their hope to go home, to their temple and relative left behind, the desire of their eyes, was a false hope. All that was going to be destroyed. They would be so miserable and stunned they would be unable to say or do anything normally. How does that apply to those in the Kingdom not mourning family that didn't make it? It has nothing to do with it at all.

Really, the Bible was written by nothin' but goat herders? I don't post much but this does irk me. Yes a few may have been shepherds or fisherman, but a fair amount were far more educated and were professionals in their fields of occupation. Just take Moses or Daniel for instance. How about Luke or Paul?
And just because some were shepherds does not make them dumb ignorant peasants scratching out a living in some God Awful armpit of civilization. Try reading about eastern civilization- how much literature exists from thousands of years ago. Math, science, poetry and prose etc. I read "When Asia was the World" and it was fascinating. These people routinely made journeys of thousands of miles for trade, treaties, discovery, and education.
Abraham was a guest of kings and pharoahs- he was no dummy. He was a very wealthy man with many servants and people traveling with him. He knew how to act in the palace.
Describing the writers with a derogatory term is just ignorant and offensive.

I remember a few names from your list...Tucker especially since we had him for 2 different circuits, in CT and then again in NY. He reprimanded me once for allowing my 12 ear old daughter to wear lipgloss to the meeting.
May lived in the apartment at the KH in Hamden. Funny story about May, he was rather persnickety and ran the sisters ragged with his requirements per meals and houskeeping- my sister changed his sheets and short-sheeted him.Don't piss my sister off- she will find a way to pay you back.
Forgot about Hood until I saw your list.

McDonald’s Cashier Job Requires BA Degree–Not

A job posting for a McDonald’s franchise cashier opening in Massachusetts that required a college degree caused a stir among the media today, with much hand-wringing about job prospects in America, but it was all in error.
Tony Cesolini, assistant manager at McDonald’s of Winchendon, a town on the border with New Hampshire, said the educational requirement was an error in the job posting.
“We’re still trying to figure out how that happened,” Cesolini told ABC News. “At this time, it’s misreported information from an independent job offering website.”

News outlets including the New York Daily News reported about the education requirement Thursday on JobDiagnosis.com.
Cesolini said the franchise did not publish the job posting.
The job posting, as published by the Daily News, showed Crew Cashiers required a bachelor degree and experience as well.
Cesolini said he has been fielding inquiries from the media about the job description.
“We do not require a bachelor degree and haven’t required it in the past,” he said.
An email from a support team member of JobDiagnosis.com said the job post was listed incorrectly with the educational level defaulting to bachelor’s degree.
“The post was only live for a short time, and was completely removed once we gained knowledge of the error,” JobDiagnosis.com said.
Joe and Lori Ruscito, owner and operators of the franchise in Winchendon released a statement about the job posting:
“There has been some misinformation reported by an independent job site with no relationship to the Winchendon, Massachusetts McDonald’s. The original job posting, which could be accessed through McState.com, did not require a bachelor’s degree and we do not require a bachelor’s degree for employment. Our organization is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse work force.”
