Personally I would think having no faith in God or the bible just makes every prophet a false prophet. Anyone who claims to speak for God, interpert scripture, etc.. etc... Would be doing so falsely. Or at least would be doing so based upon their own human reasoning.

Do you care about calling the Watchtower a false prophet?
by drew sagan inover and over again the argument is made that jehovah's witnesses and/or the watchtower society are a false prophet.
arguments for the 'false prophet' label come as follows: .
the watchtower has predicted the end of the world on certain dates and such things have never transpired.

Do you want to know everything?
by John Doe inhumans seem to have a need to make sense of and explain things.
as such, religions and other unprovable ideas fill a needed gap in the human experience--that of the desire to know why we're here and where we came from.
but, have you ever stopped and wondered if we are better off knowing everything?

Sure I WANT to know everything. But I know I wont.
But I also believe that the universe is knowable. If in fact I believe anything it is the idea that even though we might not know everything at once, everything can be known.

An ex-JW underground railroad system
by Layla33 ini have been thinking about this since yesterday or maybe a little bit longer, but cognac's situation situation really struck me and so many others that are in a situation that seems not only like psychological torture, but where someone almost seems imprisoned against their will through the wts society, it seems to happen in marriages, but not always.. i am a big forensics person, so i was watching some mindless program on television about forensics or something like that (could have even been law & order) and they were trying to find a woman who had "disappeared" and what had actually happened was that a group of people who didn't really know each other, had this silent group who would pick someone up from one point to another, get them away from their abusive spouse/situation, and help them find a job and a place to stay.
it took them at least three weeks to track the person down because each person really didn't know the other, they were just one check off point for another.. and i was thinking, couldn't we create a safe haven for those in those high pressured situations?
i would be willing to help start it, financially support it, etc i am just in the planning, thought process stage, but i would love to have an aresnal of help from others, who could assist people that are trying to break free, start over, and all of that.. would anyone else be interested?

I have thought about this in the past as well. I also thought it would be interesting to do a halfway house of sorts. A place where people could re-build their lives, find jobs, go to college... etc etc..
I think a good point was made though that when it comes to leaving family and friends the person leaving is the one that needs to be steadfast about it. It is hard but it is kind of a personal process to build up telling people what you think and allowing them to reject or accept them. People need to be strong enough themselves first before leaving the situation would be effective. (not talking about abuse and other horrible situations.. just in general).
I think also part of this and another good idea would be a network of people who are "in" but free thinkers. Kind of a network of referals that those questioning could turn to for a casual meet at a coffee shop for warmth and friendship without the "burden" of going to a "apostate" site or talking to "known apostates". Just some unjudgemental compaionship. --tc
(by the way willing to help with this)

WT to start download of Kool-Aid edition of WT soon.
by hamsterbait ini reckon that the wt is going to go down the line of giving publishers their own password so they can download specific litterature from the web.
the passwords will be doled out by the elders, to whom the bethell in each country will send them.
(each one will identify a specific witless) .

Could This Be The Watchtower's Endgame?
by metatron insuppose you had a business that didn't make money.
you would try to make the thing more efficient and probably lay off.

Prediction: the new looong weeknite meeting will be trimmed
by yadda yadda 2 inthe new version weeknite meeting combining the cbs, the tms and sm will be 1.45 hours long!.
that's just wayyy too long.
with the tendency for many talks to creep over time, it will be more like 2 hours of boring, prosaic, dry, dull, drivel on your bums on those cold, winter nights.

LOL Serve Us!...
I agree. You will see a new witness emerge "The weekend warrior" they will be called. Strangely absent Tuesday night but present for Sunday and serve us. Eventually this will be considered acceptable. Perhaps encouraged. I also noticed an interesting thing at the circut ass. Lots of talk about "serve us" that had experinces about HLC and RBC stuff and very little experinces about door to door work.

Possible Gods
by DT ini'm just trying to fill a logical hole.
many people conclude that the existence of life or the structure of the universe demands that there be a god.
i don't really agree with this, but i can sympathise with that viewpoint.

See there was a god. And he knew almost everything. The only thing he didn't know was what would happen if he didn't exist. He thought about creating a universe full of little people but why bother? He already knew what would happen. So he decided to explore the one thing he didn't know and he exploded. This was the big bang. God exploded and all his little pieces went out into the universe and began to re-organize themselves slowly. The little God parts tended towards complexity and eventually they will all reassemble themselves into God once again. And then we will know what happens when he explodes. :-P
