i hear ya lonely sheep. as a child growing up in the J-dubs i always told people that i believed in god. the truth is that i never believed in god. i was just trying to believe because i thought it was the right thing to do and i wanted to be a good person. also, i thought that no one would love me if they knew i didn't believe. when i was in my early 20's i was at a door by myself and a man asked me why i was preaching and why i believed in god in the first place. i was upset with myself that i couldn't answer him thruthfully. realizing that i had been atheist all my life is what made me eventualy dissasociate myself. it wasn't until about 6 months after that that i realized via this web sight all the other juicy stuff there was to know about the JWs.

Article about HIV
by Moomin induring one of my book studies, the subject of hiv came up.
i was told that if a brother or sister was infected with the virus then they should humbly accept the fact that some people may not want them in their homes.
so anyone with the virus will be able to attend meetings at the kh but not the book study or any social gatherings.

another thought from the swimming pool baptism incident. aids would die very very fast in that cold water. it needs warmth, and the chlorine would definately kill it asap. it is out of stupidity and ignorance that the witnesses didn't want her in the same swimming pool. another way the society and elders screw up the minds and emotions of their followers. there are only certain bodily fluids that can be used to transmit aids. it doesn't surprise me that the elders were so stupid and ignorant as to deny a person baptism with the rest because of a disease that is nearly impossible to catch through normal interactions.

ronin and all you others out there listen to this. aids is practicaly impossible to transmitt through saliva. i quote the text book "microbiology" by kathleen park talaro. pg. 770 says "Extensive studies have indicated that, even within families, infection of healthy persons has occurred only after know exposure to blood." "the AIDS virus does not survive for al long outside the host, and it is far more sensitivew to heat and disinfectants. In general, AIDS is spread only by direct and rather specific routes involving intimate contact with an infectious dose." "The virus can be isolated from urine, tears, sweat, and saliva, but in such small numbers (less than 1 virus per cubic centimeter) that they are not considered sources of infection." insurance agents and people who know people that have aids does not make them anymore knowledgeable of the disease. its rediculous for someone to not accept someone with aids into their houses. you cannot get it from a toilet seat or any other non direct ways. please dont be as ignorant as the J-dubs are about this. aoxo

I have trust issues , but what do you think about this ....
by troubled mind inthe reverend down the street has made friends with my son ...... yesterday we came down hard on our 18 yr old son because he has not gotten a job since graduation , and can not pay for his share of the cell phone or car insurance .
so we took these privileges away until he can pay .
well he must of went over to the rev's last night and the guy offered to give him $100.

the idea of offering your son $100 is a little fishy to me. the healthy and real solution is to get your son to get a job or more gigs. by the way i have used several temp. agency's in my life. they do have lots of blue collar warehouse jobs and all sorts of jobs. but i would definately be weary of this preist guy. you dont have to give free money to be a good hearted person. it sounds like he wants something in return...

giving a talk
by aoxo ini was reading "crises of conscience" and came to a part that described the governing body meetings and how some of the gb were asleep and not realy paying attention to the subject at hand but raised their hands at the end of the meeting just to agree with the new resolution despite how it may affect the bro's and sis of the cong.
it reminded me how elders critiqueing my talks and telling me i had to work on a certain point like gestures when i worked damn hard to get checked good on that point and realizing that they weren't paying attention to my talk at all.
other times i was marked good on some point that i didn't even bother to read up on in the tmsgb.

arther, there was a referance in CoC when there was a certain older man in the GB that would sleep through the meetings and then at the end would just raise his hand and agree with whatever was being discussed. and yes i also think that a lot of elders were not very well educated enough to decide how good my talks were.

What one thing reminds you most of being a Witness?
by free2beme inthe mind is full of all kinds of things that can trigger memories.
it could be the taste of a certain spice that reminds you of a now passed relative who liked to cook.
it could be the smell of a perfume or cologne, that reminds you of a lover you once could not live without.

side walks, chapstick, buldging book bags carried at waist height (mailman), any pair of people walking together on the sidewalk wearing good clothing. baseball stadiums, microphones, suits, winter driving in cities, old men wearing old hats and polyester pants, mens dress shoes, old smelly apartment buildings, anyone knocking at the door (even the pizza guy), gravel driveways of old country houses with big mean dogs that are unleashed, the smell of someones house from outside their door step, rich houses with blacktop paved driveways, minivans, being in the back seat of a car...
