Night Owl or Early Bird?
by damselfly ini can't sleep, i'm usually up until 2 (or later) every night.......then the alarm goes off at 6:30 and i'm up to start my day.
i find that i'm more alert and productive in the night time, however i am sooo tired of not being able to sleep.
so how about you, night owl or early bird?

Were YOU Depressed When You Were A Witness?
by minimus ini've seen soooo many witnesses taking meds or alcohol because of unhappiness and depression.
i know of one woman who regularly gos to her shrink and is the most depressed person that i know of.
personally, i believe it's because a jw can never do enough to satisfy god or the elders....what do you think?

sigh.
i was depressed because nothing made sense to me. i had tried reading the bible in its entirety repeatedly, but could not get passed the incoherence and contradictory nature of Genesis alone.
i was a closet evolutionist and had to somehow make it work in my mind that this jehovah character was the mastermind behind evolution (just that no one in the org. had reached this reasoning yet).
trying to reconcile these two theories is like attempting to combine oil and water - they won't mix. my mind hurt. so i drank and smoked pot, alleviating a lot of the headaches. and Beatrice, my psychologist was also extremely helpful.
feeling pretty good now.

Why I joined this forum...
by UpAndAtom in<div>my very first visit to this website several years ago, was because i wanted to find out what the few surprises were going to be at the sydney 2003 convention.
(i have family that are jehovahs witnesses but i am not) .
it took a few months to sink in, but i gradually came to accept the real truth that these surprises are nothing of the sort.

of course there are the brain management tactics they use to ensure the "loyalty"
of the members.
and though they are all working publishers for the conglomerate publishing house,
no ones gets paid.
