All those supporting a one world government and globalism enjoy, this is but one effect of that. It will be interesting to see how globalist that have opened the door will try to close it and blame others. Maybe next, we can shift some of our military positions to foreign lands as well.
You laud how everything is better in those countries and they have a better understanding of maters than the mean rotten old US of A, why not reward them with your jobs too? You can't have it both ways people.

FBF, obviously you missed where I said I want nothing from France or feel France owes us anything. Of course, it would have been appreciated for them to not have run interference in ousting Saddam. But, with the billions of dollars of contracts they had with Saddam and so many French weapons in Saddam's hands, I guess it's understandable why they wanted Saddam to remain in power.
You obviously are very proud of your country, I applaud you for that. I wish more people had pride in their countries and that Ameridcans who take pride in theirs weren't so looked down upon.

u.s. sen. bill nelson said monday the bush administration last year told him and other senators that iraq not only had weapons of mass destruction, but they had the means to deliver them to east coast cities.
nelson, d-tallahassee, said about 75 senators got that news during a classified briefing before last october's congressional vote authorizing the use of force to remove saddam hussein from power.

Did I say you owed us anything? Or, did I answer you about what we owe you? Lafeyette, Statue of Liberty? As for France paying what is owed, wasn't it DeGaul who refused to repay debts incurred from WW2? Personally, I believe American blood in the 20th century more than repayed what we received from Lafeyette 200 years ago.
Yes, we have much to thank France for, in addition to what you mentioned. Twice having to leave the comforts of our homes to help liberate France from oppression and the inheritance of Vietnam, for starters. What do I want from France today? Nothing! What do I feel France owes us? Nothing! However, it would have been appreciated for a little support, but you all were free not too. No big deal. But, to arm one of the world's bloodiest dictators with weapons to use against us wasn't actually the support we would have appreciated.

That is a matter of opinion. Of course, Saddam didn't slaughter thousands of civilians or invade neighboring countries. Only Hitler did that. We may never know how far Saddam may have gone had appeasements continued of him.

You don't conquer most all of Europe by being stupid. France's Maginot Line was a well conceived and well built defense against future German aggression (for it's time). They had no problem getting around it, did they?

He was opposed to the war. Wish he would have just stated that when asked though.
Wishing is one thing, burning the flag in another land is another.
While in country, I met quite a few who were also opposed to it. Most of us were, at the time. Still many went in, performed their duty, often as medics and were actually quite heroic.
I've asked many times and never actually recived an answer yet. Since character didn't matter for 8 years, why does it matter now?

I've posted it before, but just prior to the invasion of Iraq, Hans Blix also said to the UN General Assembly;
"Another matter, and one of great significance, is that many proscribed weapons and items are not accounted for,"
