WTS is going down: Illusion or Reality?

hi folks,.

it appears that the tides are turning upon the wts.

judging by recent child abuse cases, un scandal and blood doctrine change that the wts is being exposed and that the rest of the world is taking note.

Sadly, many of the rank and file fail to see the hand writing on the wall. Just like we might have been, they don't want to think the Org is capable of such deceit and deception. This would include my own wife and her kids.

Like stated earlier, I printed out the article on the latest lawsuit the other night for them to read. The younger daughter, 15 now, said it was a bunch of lies and made up. "She knows" the org would never be that low.

Well, just watch and live and learn honey.

I would love to hear the official response to that lawsuit!

McDonalds Prohibited?

given how the org went after tobacco in the late sixties, resulting in it's total prohibition in the early seventies, based on the health communities claims of how bad it was destroying the body (a claim not disputed by me) and how they made it a disfellowshipping offense to smoke, chew or otherwise use tobacco, i wonder if they will now ban eating at mcdonalds?.

there is a group out there of health professionals (or claimed) that wish to heavily tax mcdonalds and other so called junk food places.

the taxes would be used to treat all the millions of people who are afflicted with the dreaded disease of obesity and to combat the rising costs of treating these poor misguided individuals that have been led astray, thinking they were getting healthy food at the loacl greasy pits.. will the elders start smelling everyone's breath upon entry to the kingdom halls for tell tale signs of mustard and pickles?

Still, my little satire is just a ribbing. To start kicking out all the overweight sisters and brothers with the dunlap disease (your belly dun lapped over your belt) would decimate the numbers.

There is a group out there of Health Professionals (or claimed) that wish to heavily tax McDonalds and other so called junk food places. Will a ketchup stain on your tie result in a Judicial hearing to determine the extent of your sneaking a burger? Will the GB give the rank and file a mere six months to lose that extra sixty pounds or be drummed out of paradise?

I wonder if secret meetings are being held in Brooklyn today, discussing ways to combat this growing menace to our society and way of life? I truly do wonder if they will go this far. After all, they were looking out for everyone's best interest when they totally banned tobacco, were they not?

I intend to watch with bated breath and await the announcement of fast foods being banned. Look out Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy's, Jack in the Box and even Mom and Pop greasy pits, Mother is watching.

i don't consider it a fair or unbiased investigation if you only talk to one side.. this was the only communication i received from the society on this matter.

That was my feeling, larc, a form letter, readily printed. Just change the names and mail it. Still, it took them four months to even acknowledge receipt of my letters. Personally, I hope I am not in their prayers.

Below is an edited copy(name and address only) of the actual letter I received from the Watchtower Society follwing two other letters I sent, one on Sept. 11, 1999 and Sept. 24, 1999. Please note the date of the reply, January 18, 2000.

As I saw it then and see it now, I leveled charges of inappropriate conduct against the elders at this congregation, yet, the elders seem to be the only ones the Society was concerned with talking to. I don't consider it a fair or unbiased investigation if you only talk to one side.

This was the only communication I received from the Society on this matter. Not even a phone call. Personally, I feel the letter was an attempt to "shine me on," as I had threatened legal action in the previous letter I posted. I also see this as why they are rotting away.

We do realize that when you are disappointed with the way thngs have been handles, this could be especially discouraging and a heavy emotional "burden" to carry. This was the "burden" that David had to contend with when he was disappointed by the actions of a fellow worshiper. Yet, David had stated: "Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself, and he himself will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous one to totter." --Psalm 55:12 - 14, 22.
We will communicate further with the Salmon Creek elders and provide direction as necessary. Meanwhile, we encourage you to leave matters in Jehovah's hands. We are firmly convinced that Jehovah's organization is wholly intent on directing the worldwide preaching work in a descreet and responsible manner.
We sincerely hope these things will work out in a way that allows you to regain your joy and peace of mind in Jehovah's service. We remember you in our prayers and send you our warm Christian love.

Hello gspradling and welcome. The waters here test fine. I too have just recently started posting, about a week ago. Feel free to share what concerns and thoughts you have. I find it refreshing to be able to speak my mind, safely.

I too was inactive for a while, about five years. I was just trying to fade away, as some have, but it wasn't working. So, I DA'd myself. Or, if you prefer, I disfellowshipped the Watchtower Society from me!

Who Have They Sold Redundant KH's Too?

the witnesses have obviously sold off lots of stock and fixtures over the years, as they replaced older, redundant technologies with new, including within this, buildings, kingdom halls and such like.. 'bernard' brought up the reminder in a reply post below, quoting his old kingdom hall as being sold to the mormon's.

frankly, this raised my eyebrows.. what else have they sold that we know of to people on the 'outside' that they would normally disagree with?

and how have these fresh funds been used, to what ends, if any specifically?.

By selling to churches, are they not helping to promote what they call "false religion?" Maybe cold hard cash substitutes for a conscience? The rank and file would be "talked to" in the back room for going to a church or doing anything misconstrued as promoting these so-called false beliefs, but they can sell them a ready made place to worhip falsely?

Just more contradiction and hypocrisy, as I see it.

Judicial Hearing Notification

in other threads i have outlined when two elders came out to my house to provoke a situation to have reason to df me.

below is a copy of the certified letter i received about two weeks after i threww the two elders out of my house, followed by my reply to the secretary, who is also the elder that instigated the the situation as well as the chair of the judicial hearing they tried to form.. i have edited out personal information as well as his signature, since my wife is still an active dub and has enough trouble with them as it is.

Yes, about 8 months later I got tired of all of it and DA'd. The more I thought about things the more I didn't want to be known as a JW anymore. Even inactive, I was still considered a JW and with what I was seeing, my conscience wouldn't allow me to continue with that moniker. So, I bid them a merry goodbye.

Puffs, and anyone else, feel free to use my letter as necessary. Hopefully, it may help some.

For anyone else who thinks they got what they wanted, I disagree. They wished for me to knuckle under and follow along behind them, kissing their asses. They didn't get the satisfaction of booting me out, I booted them out!

i read a lot her that jw is brainwashd, and some of you make a bigg point aout of this, i dont agree, i think we can think ourselfs you put youself on high placese when you say this, i think we must acept what other peopel think and dont say they are dummis or something like that, who no the truth, perhaps you all have wrong, something to think abaout when you put out your very high complianing.. i can give you one link too see who realy is brainwashd, it is you peopel here, you as say good bless us, read and think,.

I always wondered why any that are so happy with the org take the time to cruise exJW sites and read literature against them? Especially since the org that makes them so happy discourages them from doing so!

Personally, I didn't and still don't have that big of a problem with their theology, but their hypocritical stance on many of their stated positions and claiming their representatives (elders) are appointed by God, yet so many are power hungry ass kissers.

Continuing contradictions helped me realize that maybe I wasn't as happy as they were telling me I was. Case in point, one of the newest members of the GB was my CO, about 7 or 8 years ago. He was CO right about the time I went inactive. An elder brought him by the house one Saturday, to this day I don't know why, we discussed very little about why I was inactive. This man claimed to be of the annointed.

Now, it is my understanding that the annonted's number was sealed in the early 30s by JR. I was even told when I studied that even if an annointed follower were to fall away, their number would be replaced by one of the older faithful ones and not by some younger, newer upstart. Yet, he is an annointed CO sitting in my living room telling me he converted from another religion in 1954. Today, he is on the Governing Body.

Some time ago, I mentioned this little oddity to another dub, in passing, and got the reply that it was not up to me to question someones claims of being annointed. Sorry people, but it sure as hell is up to me to question things, not just blindly follow along, over the cliff, so to speak.

An elder once told me that I was just undergoing a "test of faith," when my troubles were first getting started. He even mentioned how satan can manipulate people against you. Well, he is the elder that was the start of my problems, so in essence, he admitted that he was being directed by satan. A little fact that he did not appreciate hearing, but the way I saw it.

Way too many contradictions and hypocrisies for me.

The War of The Elders: Dubs & $$$

i thought i would take time today to share a true story of what happened in my own jw family as i was growing up as a dub that puts the spot light on what money starved dubs are willing to do when it comes to money issues.. both of my grandparents on both sides and my parents were dubs.

when i was growing up we were never well off financially thanks to the constant harping that armageddon was near at hand and that my father should only work just long enough to make enough money to barely get by as jehovah would provide (yeah, right).

to make ends meet in our large family, my mother used to work by taking in older people who would otherwise need to be spending their last days in a nursing home and we typically had two or three people stay with our family until got to the point where they needed to be in a hospital, and often died soon thereafter.

It is sad that families should be ripped apart like this. But, when we lose sight of the real message of Jesus and instead put our faith in a man made organization and periodical, we allow them to tear us apart. They don't even think of the harm they are doing to children that grow up and watch all this bickering between families.

If the Watchtower really cared about families, they would actually practice many of the things they print in articles, instead of slipping devotion to the org first, into the articles.
