Sheila, your son is an inspiration to others. Congrats on having such a fine upstanding son. It's great to see such fine young men carry on the tradition of protecting all of our freedoms.
Even though I was Army, I send a hearty Semper Fi.

Cruzan, I was also in Dallas, Little Elm, to be more exact, visiting my youngest daughter. I was only there for a day and a half, so didn't have time to let anyone know. We spent the day driving around and seeing Dealy Plaza.
Valis, no, I believe Washington will be getting another apostate next summer

if he runs, he will be the most qualified of all those who now aspire to the office in 2004. if he runs, general wesley k. clark (ret.
) will be the second most qualified person to ever seek the presidency of the u.s. over the past 100 years, second only to the great william jefferson cliinton.
what follows are excerpts from an article about him in a recent esquire magazine.. he is a remarkable man with an unassailable integrity -- the kind of man that has all the little bushites shaking in their boots.
"Sending people to their deaths" is what people do who are in the military business. Not the same as a draft-dodging president who talks as if he's the sheriff in a small Old West town.
Draft Dodging President? Wasn't that your boy Clinton? Bushes military time may not have been the best, but at least he was in, not dodging it. As for Air National Guard not seeing combat, sorry, but I met up with quite a few members of the National Guard called to active duty in the 'Nam. Had Bush been called to active duty and ran, he too would be facing my scorn today. That he apparently was AWOL for a period, doesn't set well with me, but then again, I was too at times, mainly to see women in "the Ville."
As for Clark, yes, he sent people off to death. But, my point, is that if he were a Republican candidate, having sent people off to death would draw many attacks against him today. When Clinton ordered the bombing of an aspirin factory and killed innocent civilians, it drew very little criticism. When Bush continued and enlarged upon what Clinton and his Father started, he has been met by some of the worst attacks and criticism I have ever seen, even more than was leveled at Johnson (D. Texas) and Nixon (R. Ca,) during Vietnam.
As for how I vote, it takes a great deal more than just being eloquent speaker to garner my support, regardless of party. A few decades ago, a political leader was also a very eloquent speaker and led his whole nation into WW2. Hitler's eloquency is a matter of record today. I look into a person's current claims of what he will do and take it with a grain of salt, politicians not being noted for their extreme honesty, also regardless of party. I also look to their record of what they have been doing all along and Clark's looks dismal to me. I especially appreciated the NATO British General's comment that he wouldn't help Clark start World War III.
Vote for whoever you choose, but know who you're voting for. Otherwise, you may be ending up out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Blondie, the article was about the extremely difficult task of identifying victims of the WTC. Due to the gravity of it all, it is DNA analysis of extremely small body parts and tissue they have to work with. The article relates it to be like being in a gigantic mortal and pestal. The closure mentioned is that some 1200 families still have nothing to bury of their loved ones. Ones that have received remains, often got little more than a test tube of tissue.

he's more than just a veteran, a guy who heard the call of his country and marched and drilled and slogged and shot people and got shot at and did his time
I have to wonder how many he sent to their deaths as a Commanding Officer? Odd, Bush engages in warfare and many die and he is a lying warmonger, but a former Commander, who personally would have sent many off to die, is a hero, when he declares himself a Democrat.
I wonder how many Bush personally shot, versus how many Clark did? I guess as long as you are a Liberal Democrat, it doesn't really matter how many deaths you may be responsible for.

johnny depp likens u.s. to 'dumb puppy'

It seems to me that Americans are super-patriotic. No dissent is allowed. Shut up celebrities if you don't agree. If people don't agree with President Bush, they're stupid or worse, anti-American.
I always wonder why this attitude comes out when someone criticizes Liberal actors. Obviously, they are speaking their minds freely and without condemnation, other than those who disapprove locally. Simply speak against Bush or take any stance opposed to the US, and you get all the media coverage you can handle. Yet, where is the media coverage and comments on how grand and eloquent are such comments from actors that support Bush and his Administration?
Seems to me, the ones that are actually being ostracized are the Conservative actors, not the Liberal ones.
I'm still waiting for Barbara Streisand, Alec Baldwin, Rosey O'Donnell and such to leave the US, as they stated they would have to, if Bush were elected, back in 2,000. I do so love the honesty and sincerity of chosen actors who many look to for political insight.
oh, yeah, your god's law... as if your religion and god is the only one out there.
good advice, but it's pretty obvious.
10. you shall not covet your neighbor's house; you .
One nice thing about all of this is that as the right-wingers start to show their true colors they are becoming marginalized with the rest of the nut cases.
One nice thing about America... Intolerance will not be tolerated!
And the above is an example of tolerance?
Seems to me, to be "tolerant" means to accept the left's view only.
