OH yes... the strip clubs.What was funny about that was that when I was in; I never went to one. But when I was out, I found out that so many brothers I knew went. I still have'nt went to one. I have no problem in having regular women doing that in my house for free.

The thought of meeting his whole family scares me - is that normal??

ok, i was talking to my jw boyfriend on the phone for a while last night, and we were talking about some plans that we have for this coming summer.

one of these plans is a family get-together / camping trip that his family does every year.

i'm all gung-ho for doing family events with him, but while we were talking about it last night, i got really anxious about it.. i'd thought that it was just going to be his immediate family - parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, that sort of thing.

The best adive I could ever give is to BE YOURSELF.Yeah it is kind of scary, like being a pilgrim in an unholy land,but as long as he is there with you, it will be o.k, I promise you that!

I know they would absolutly adore you. And you know that deep down inside. But when they start talking, and asking questions about religion and such, you should practice the art of the ninja arts.(dissapearing, lol!) Or mastering the art of looking busy.

Double Lives

does the watchtower society's rules and regulations promote healthy spiritual attitudes or do they have the opposite result?.

the reason i ask is because it seems as if many jw's i know are leading dual lives.. one life around jw friends and family and another hidden life when they are in places and situations where other jw's don't see them.

I have to comment on this....

As long as one is a witness their LIFE is one of dualism. My father said that,"as witnessess we do live a life of duality. Our lives are indeed complex to say the least."

As if they're some friggin' superhero.

And that's how they actually feel like. In fact....that's how I used to feel.

Tricks you use to weigh less

if you weigh a couple of pounds more than you thought, do you try moving the scale around a few inches left or right to see if you weigh less..... how about stepping more in the back or front of the scale and see if you weigh less.. or maybe put the needle at -1 lbs just to feel better .

What is the big deal about Valentines Day?

i don't quite understand all the "hype" and the endless questions about what my s/o is going to do/get me for the "big day".

i think diamonds are ugly, i don't like gold, flowers die and if want chocolate i'll buy it myself thanks.

honestly what i want for valentines day is for him to start being financially responsible and pick up after himself.

JW's poor attitude to medical staff

i left the dubs a long time ago, so having been fully deprogrammed i can't always see stuff from the jw perspective.

at my father's funeral a couple of years ago my jw sister chose to give my wife a short sharp lecture about the wickedness of her profession.

my wife is a midwife.

It's because of their lack of trust in the medical profession in general because of the blood issue imho. How do you thik I feel? I've been in the medial profession for over 7 years, and I used to hear assinine comments from the platform about the dangers of taking blood products when now it is a concience issue, why even NEED a blood card? Use a d.p.a intead. I would hear hlc elders make remarks on how NOT to trust the doctors and staff, and to ALWAYS cling to the organization in regards to protecting yourself(this is for those that choose to stick to the collective). To me the only way to protect you rself is to EDUCATE YOURSELF AND HAVE NO ONE SPOONFEED YOU IN REGARDS OF YOUR CONDITION. I've seen it TOO many times. They're there for a reason, and that is to watch YOU! Again, you want to be aware of YOUR situation? Don't be afraid to ask questions in regards of your medical treatments, get online, read current information on your condition. Get reputable sources. EDUCATION...my anti-drug.
