I think people who are at a place in their lives, looking for something that works itself out on its own, (Most people in their early 20's, like I was when I came into the KH are sorting out things that may have happened to them in their lives and are looking to make things right, the Witnesses seem to have answers I suppose)! I found that I was miserable in the KH....I may have thought I had some answers to life, but looking around, seeing so many unhappy people, people who were drunkards to cope with the boring religion....and people like me who were on anti-depressants while in the orgainization, (alot of them)....I realized this was a crock! I left the JW's last year around this time, and went off of Prozac that I was taking for about 12 years, (4 years after I entered the KH), and haven't needed them since! It is a place of endless waiting.....and people just sit...never accomplishing anything in their lives, while waiting for something, I am not even sure will ever come! I agree with you...Unhappy people in that place....get out while you can and don't look back!

Why does it seem to be unhappy people who are attracted to the JWs?
by new boy ini have had time to think about this........... i was an attendent for many years.......... and looking up and down the rows at every family that was seating there in the khs........... no one was happy!.
i think of my mother (who brought this religion into our house)......she was one of the most unhappy and miserable people you would ever meet!
she was a spiritual orphan with few friends and no real family to speak of.. she got the "good news" back in 1950, that "the world" was a bad place and god, would soon be killing most everyone......she was thrilled!...............

Anybody ever caught you here?
by Billzfan23 inpost your experience here if the jwd forum has ever been the vehicle that got you exposed for being an apostate or visiting apostate sites.
has anyone here ever had a wife or family member find this site bookmarked, in their history, or on the screen of their pc?
what was the response and what was your retort, if any?.

I don't think anyone has...but then again, i don't think they are looking...I really wish they would...I am too lazy to write a letter to disassociate myself....Just find me and DF me already! lol If anyone on here is from any of the Hemet congregations I used to attend or the Martinez or Pleasant hill Congregation....all of those are in California.....or last but not least, Colorado Springs Congregations that my family and I attended briefly....I am an apostate against the Witnesses now...come by and we'll chat...lol! Yes I am being smug , but I could care less who knows what I am, and what I am not anymore...I am FREE 2 be me! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!

Oh how I sympathize with you...I am so thankful my extended family was not a part of this "happy" religion....They are all jumping for joy, along with all my old friends I left behind, because our family is out! I have always thought that most of the Witness families I saw were some of the most miserable people I knew! As for them shunning you, when they themselves are doing bad things, it is par for the course....I have said since removing myself from the KH that the majority put on a show to win favor with the other Witnesses...most do not care what God thinks, because most do not have a personal realtionship with God...It is a showy display, similar to what the bible describes the Pharasees as having! Hold your head high, and as much as it must hurt...know there are folks here who have your back! Much luck to you! ......Ursula

How do you feel about Tatoos?
by Fisherman ini feel very offended and distrurbed when i see people covered with tatoos.
some people have tatoos all over their bodies, even on their faces.
there are also tatoo programs on the tlc channel that children can watch without a forewarning before the show comes on.

I love them!...I personally have 3...a present to myself for not going to a place that seemed to judge on Outside appearances alone, (yes, the KH)...I wanted them back in the 90's, but I was a JW and knew it was wrong...I am proud of my tats...one is for my daughters, one is for my parents, and the other is for me....A U2 based tat with the words "Walk On" underneath, to remind myself to continue to walk on form alot of pain in my life...one of them being the Witnesses...My daughters who also left, have tats also...I think they are a form of art, and I know they aren't for everyone...but I think mine are beautiful :)

Your favourite place....
by diamondblue1974 indo you have a favourite place in the world...if so where is it, why and do you have photos?.
mine has to be nisyros (a very small greek island near kos); i last visited there some years ago and ever since i was captivated by its beauty and tranquility.
in short its a volcanic island but unspoiled by tourism; the people are amazing and so down to earth.. take a look.
