does anyone know whether it is proper to keep a congregation file on a person if he was just accused of apostasy from family member.. if they keep that on file, does it follow you anytime you move to a new congregation?.

No record is kept of unsubstantiated accusations.
If a committee meets and you are reproved or df'd information will be placed in a sealed envelope, and if disfellowshipped, the WT Society will be informed as to the details regarding your disfellowshipping.
If you were just reproved and moved BEFORE your privileges were regained, then the new congregation would be informed of some of the details so they could supervise your "growth back to spiritual health".
If some time had passed, months or years, it would be unlikely that any other congregation would be informed except in the case of pedophilia, or several assholes on the body of elders that just wanted to make your life more difficult. Which is too often the case.

Very interesting first post.
I lurked here for about 6 months, until I made that fatal decision to QUIT going to the KH. After being a witness since 1961 thats probably pretty fast.
glad I quit. Couldn't fade though. An elder on a mission from his god made damn sure that I got disfellowshipped. I quit because of the UN-NGO thingy, but I was disfellowshipped for having my own memorial with my family.
Now where does it say in the Bible you can't do that?

I did some crunching one time several years back and the difference in a 10 year period showed a 1 million JW loss.
It was like a peak of 180,000 one year loss compared to a 200,000 immersed with a net increase of almost flat.
It is my fervent hope that their figures will go backwards for the rest of my life.
