The Watchtower and the UN--MY letters and Brochure--
by uninformed ini wrote the wt for a year before i was df'd over the wt-un/dpi-ngo deal.
i have all of my letters, the wt jerkoff letter back to me as well as a compilation of a simple little brochure, documenting that the wt was more involved with the un than for a library card.
if you would like to see and read it, i would like your feedback.

Lady Liberty: I sent the last copy of my letter to the Society along with a copy of all my correspondence as well as proof to them that the WT had joined for more reasons than a Library card. I sent them the UN documentation of being at the Nicaragua "Blood Fest" in the year 2000 also.
I never did receive a reply from the WT. I sent copies to Bro. Nonkes, Secretary of the Ch.Cong of JW's, as well as Bro. Bill Van Der Wall, President. I had known both of those two brothers for 30 and 15 years respectively, and did NOT hear back from them either. (Jerks)
The body of elders framed me. I quit going to the KH in June of 2005. I told one elder, a 'friend' that I was concerned about Memorial in the spring of '06. I told him we would probably just have our own with our family. Following Memorial, he came by my house with another elder and asked what we did for memorial. My wife told them that we had our own. That was all they wanted to hear. Then they charged us with apostasy and disfellowshipped us basically for starting our own religion, I guess.
Three of my children left with my wife and I, and sorry to say, we have one son, an elder in Austin, Texas, that hates us, thinks were demonized and wouldn't have a lunch with his mom last month when she visited Austin. Very loving religion.
Frank 75--Enjoyed your input. They don't believe we are worth talking to, let alone explaining their actions to.
By the way, I appreciated the references to the UN NGO application form, and I agree. It is not what was on the form that was in violation of anything, it was the act of filling out a form to be an NGO, Which they condemned other religions for for decades!!!! Hypocrites.

WHY WAS THE ROTATION OF THE PRESIDING OVERSEER DISCONTINUED?

then in the ' 70s they started the arrangement of the body of elders w/one being the po.
during this time they started w/the practice of rotating the entire boe so that each member would be serving in a different capacity - theocratic ministry school overseer, field overseer, literature overseer, secretary, etc.

I rotated into PO the first year. I was very young at the time and it was exhilerating to have that power. (26 years old is too young to even be an elder, most cases)
The trouble with the rotation has already been addressed, but to summarize, what happened is there always seemed to be the wrong men in the wrong jobs all the time.
Later years, when I was a PO by appointment rather than rotation, I set a goal that after 5 years, I would step aside as PO and do another job. I always felt that power tends to corrupt and I didn't want to get in a position that I was 'wielding power'. So, at 5 years I resigned. I was glad to do so. I felt it was better for the body of Elders and the cong to have the variety, but I do feel that 1 year was not long enouhg for a brother to really learn his responsibilities.
The rotation really was a nightmare, but the continuous PO in one person is likely worse.

in this story an entire society is peacefully and happily under totalitarian control and don't know it.

i was born into a jw family in 1981. i spent my child hood not only going to every meeting but also in a home schooling program ran by some of the congregation folks with children.
extremely cut off from the world to say the least.

Would it be a fiasco for a cong to have a practicing pedophile homosexual presiding elder for 20 years?
He would go out in his car regularly on I-10 just east of San Antonio and wave his little member at truck drivers so they would stop at the next rest area and get a little action.
Like father like son. Min svt son went to prison for pedophilia on another elders kid. (10 year sentence--did 5). Another brother non-svt went to prison for pedopholia.
I was PO during most of this shit, having replaced the homo-pedophile as PO.
I think the area was morally challenged.
We turned out: 4 homosexual men, all of them also pedophiles
2 lesbian girls
7 illigitimate babies
4 kids killed in a car accident while aux pioneering (divine protection)
1 sister killed in a car accident suicide
all in a period of about 5 years. Wasn't I a great PO?

Could The Society Dump Circuit Overseers?
by metatron inas with the above post in the "scandals" section, i have wondered for some years if the watchtower could be forced to get rid of circuit.
overseers.. the problem is that these itinerant enforcers are a direct link in liability to watchtower headquarters, as a hierarchy is.
or ignore, or whomever they hit with their cars - can lead to the society's "deep pockets".
