my brother and i had good harmony.

i played lead and i'd sing but i preferred just to play lead.. .

this was about 1967. i was about 23. i still have the jazz and the fender amp.

I was born in 46 and drove a lot of the same cars.

Dolores was a beautiful girl. You were pretty handsome yourself. You look great on your Harley.

Thank you for the pictures. Sorry for all the hell we went through with this oppressive regime. It has cut all of us to the core, sadly, some (you) more than others.

You pretty well summed up the "pioneer spirit" as far as I can see.

We lived in (pioneering) in a little 8 X 25 trailer with a dog, a new baby, and right in the parking lot of a Kingdom Hall. That new baby grew up, spent four years at Bethel, and actually led the way out of the organization for us in the past two to three years.

Like you, glad as hell to be gone.

i haven't been to meetings in a long time (trying to fade).

ever so often i do run into a witness or 2 who are friendly, but reserved (after all i am considered in active).

anyway, my hubby & i are currently working on a letter to send to the society that will more then likely get us df'd or disassociated (same thing i guess).

I am going to accept a visit from the CO and DO in about three weeks. That is because I am an active witness, who has just stepped down as an elder, by submitting a letter about my doubts. I am going to keep saying that I have doubts (really I no longer doubt that the GB is wrong) but I will discuss it no further. I feel that this is a necessary step in my fading away gracefully. If I were not an elder or appointed servant, I would suggest that people avoid the CO. I intend to do so on every visit after this initial one. The only way to face them and not get disfellowshipped, is to bite your tongue or lie. I will do some of both. Their own literature teaches us that we are not wrong to withold the truth from those not deserving of it. (They mean intrusive government officials, but it's the same thing) I will smile when these men make a "good point" and they will walk away hoping they did some good. If you cannot do that, then avoid, avoid, avoid.

I enjoyed your post but disagree with you. I understand that you may be doing this for family considerations, and while I still disagree, I sure do understand why you would do it that way.

I think it is best to explain in detail why they are no longer a place that you want to be identified with.

My personal issue was the UN. (I have a thread going with all my letters to the WT on an internet site).

However all that being said, I am rooting for you as you walk away.

Quit limping on two different opinions. If you feel the JW's are right, go following them, and do it with your whole mind, soul, heart and strength.

How you apologist hang around web sites like this and think you are decent JW's is a mystery to me.

Their manner of response towards your inquiry reveals the teeth of a wolf hiding under a sheepskin disguise.
Their own book Draw Close to Jehovah, on page 117 paragraph 2 says,
"Jehovah didn't censure Habakkuk for his candid inquiry, for He is the one who instilled in humans the very concept of justice."
Yet censureship is one of their main methods of dealing with inquiries that expose their wrongdoing.

What a sad story you have!

I am amazed how quickly you were on to this thing. I probably didn't hear about it for several months, and then I agonized over it for over a year and a half before I started down the road to disfellowshipping.

My heart goes out to your father. He reminds me of me. This thing almost drove me crazy too.

I am looking forward to your references on blood.

have you seen the "Safe Blood 2000, Nicaragua" web page? If you put that in yahoo search and then when you find the site, go to page 53-55. It even tops the UN deal for arrogance and evil on the part of the WT.

Following Memorial, he came by my house with another elder and asked what we did for memorial. My wife told them that we had our own. That was all they wanted to hear. Then they charged us with apostasy and disfellowshipped us basically for starting our own religion, I guess.
Nice. Whatever happened to " For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst" ?

Disfellowshipped for having a family discussion about the value of the death of Jesus Christ.

I can truthfully say that I have never heard of a greater self-condemnation of an organization claiming to be Christian than that.

If they didn't do anything wrong, how come myself, my wife and a lot of people I know got disfellowshipped for knowing about it, and not liking it?

If they have nothing to hide, why isn't there an in-depth Watchtower article about it?

If they have nothing to hide, why don't they tell the UN to release any and all records on the internet, or why don't they?

Lady Liberty: I sent the last copy of my letter to the Society along with a copy of all my correspondence as well as proof to them that the WT had joined for more reasons than a Library card. I sent them the UN documentation of being at the Nicaragua "Blood Fest" in the year 2000 also.

I never did receive a reply from the WT. I sent copies to Bro. Nonkes, Secretary of the Ch.Cong of JW's, as well as Bro. Bill Van Der Wall, President. I had known both of those two brothers for 30 and 15 years respectively, and did NOT hear back from them either. (Jerks)

The body of elders framed me. I quit going to the KH in June of 2005. I told one elder, a 'friend' that I was concerned about Memorial in the spring of '06. I told him we would probably just have our own with our family. Following Memorial, he came by my house with another elder and asked what we did for memorial. My wife told them that we had our own. That was all they wanted to hear. Then they charged us with apostasy and disfellowshipped us basically for starting our own religion, I guess.

Three of my children left with my wife and I, and sorry to say, we have one son, an elder in Austin, Texas, that hates us, thinks were demonized and wouldn't have a lunch with his mom last month when she visited Austin. Very loving religion.

Frank 75--Enjoyed your input. They don't believe we are worth talking to, let alone explaining their actions to.

By the way, I appreciated the references to the UN NGO application form, and I agree. It is not what was on the form that was in violation of anything, it was the act of filling out a form to be an NGO, Which they condemned other religions for for decades!!!! Hypocrites.
