  no matter what any pompass ass witness says about the religion being the "truth", they cannot refute the simple fact that nothing they have ever predicted has come true.

  that's a pretty poor record for gods' chosen people.

  oh sure they can point to lame obvious things such as " critical times getting harder to deal with" (even that is debatable), but no hard facts to point to that show they are right, or have ever been.

  if you can acccurately disprove the mathematics in the following i will be at the local kingdom hall first thing in the morning and ask the elders if i may rejoin them in worship.. here is some information i have compiled regarding what the watchtower has printed in regards to the babylonian kings and how the lengths of their reigns can be calculated to arrive at the date of the destruction of jerusalem by nebuchadnezzar.

  if you're like me you've probably remained totally clueless whenever the subject of the chronology leading to back 607 b.c.

  as the date for the destruction of jerusalem by nebuchadnezzar comes up.

  Let's summarize (remember we have to go backwards starting in 539 B.C. with Nabonidus):

  Nabonidus ruled Babylon until it fell in 539 B.C. to Cyrus.

  Labashi-Marduk ruled for 9 months.

  Neriglissar ruled for 4 years.

  Evil-Merodach ruled for 2 years.

  Nebuchadnezzer ruled for 43 years.

  17 years + 9 months + 4 years + 2 years + 43 years = 66 to 67 years.

  Starting at 539 B.C. and going back 66/67 years we arrive at 605/606 B.C. for the start of the reign of Nebuchadnezzer.

  2nd Kings 25:8-10 tells us that Jerusalem was destroyed in the 19th year of Nebuchadnezzer's reign, so if we go forward 19 years from 605/606 B.C. we will have the approximate years of the destruction of Jerusalem.

  Nineteen years after 605/606 B.C. brings us to 586/587 B.C. which agrees with all secular evidence.

  That's easy!

  Bicycling - A Dangerous Sport

  so, on tuesday afternoon i am driving in downtown austin.

  there was this car in front of me that must have been lost and was completely stopped.

  i decided i did not want to keep waiting behind him.

  I have a license plate frame that says "Share the road" and a bumper sticker that says;

  Back to the topic of this thread I do agree the cyclist was in the wrong, his actions were just stupid, however you cannot judge all cyclist by the actions of a few.

  What really irked me most was Lo-ru-hamah's reaction to him:

  I was sorry, I didn't see him but he broke the law. I had my blinker on and I was in the far left lane. When he got hit the by the other car he wasn't even watching me anymore. The stupid Lance Armstrong wanna be might want to learn how to ride a bicycle. It took a bit to calm down but afterwards I was able to have a good laugh about how karma works.

  That is pure hateful and appalling! I can honestly say I really can't wrap my head around anyone who can laugh at another person's misery, regardless of how it happened. But that's just me? Gawd I hope not!

  Maybe it's time for this roadie to trade my bike in for an all terrain clunker and stay off the road and on trails, sucks! It's hard to train for a 100 mile road event riding trails.

  Loruhmah has apologozed for her word usage in her post. She was merely trying to express her frustration and anxiety at a cyclist who was between her and the curb (illegal) cursing her wildly for a traffic problem.

  He was so enraged that he forgot what he was doing, and subsequently had a wreck. Then, he was still screaming at her trying to blame his wreck on her.

  Bikerchic, be serious. If someone was cursing you, screaming obscenities in public, and filled with such rage that he would do violence to you if he could, and then he had a wreck, human nature would kick in and I know I personally would feel vindicated, and I think most on this thread would too.

  Please consider: People get shot quite often, or ram a car into others as a result of road rage. People die. Loruhamah was a victim of road rage, and apparantly very close to 'snapping' herself. Now, if she would have snapped and been the one to run over the cyclist, all that could be said is that he brought it on himself, however, she would have been arrested for her road rage, and rightly so.

  It is my opinion that "Princess" first post was an extension of road rage, and some of your comments about Loruhamah were also. Kind of like "piling on".

  I understand too that there may be a filial connection between Princess and one of the administrators, therefore her rude and obscene comments were basically ignored.

  Until Princess apologizes to Loruhamah I won't retract my statement that I hope she gets her sorry *** run over. How she could construe that to mean that I hope she gets killed, I will never know. Of course I don't want her to get killed. But, if she is a mouthy to motorists in cars when she is on her bike as she was to Loruhamah, then she may end up dead by road rage.

  As to your BADD sticker on your cycle, I think it is a rude sign to have on your bicycle when you are desirous of motorists to "share the road" with you. Human nature being what it is, many people would view the sign as a challenge to their driving personally. Why do you want to have motorists pissed off at you from the get-go?

  All it takes is a little tiny swerve to hit you, and either kill you or knock you off your bike, and they either stop and tell the police that you swerved out on them, or leave you laying on the road or the shoulder or sidewalk, saying they didn't see you.

  This is a wicked world. My idea of cycling is to do it in the safest possible manner, which starts with having the right attitude. I ride a Harley "Road King" but I do my best not to get into fights with cars and trucks. You just can't win. When a traffice problem happens, just let it go, use self-control and redouble your efforts to drive defensively.

  I ride my "Trek 300" bicycle on bicycle paths, as I feel it is too dangerous to be on the road going 15 or 20 when the traffic is going 60 around me. Probably just a silly notion on my part.

  By the way, Nina is correct about her posterior. Chris is on record, and I have seen it too. I agree.

  Princess, I would like to appeal to you to apologize for your explosive language at Loruhamah. I am sure you know that your remarks were not kind.

  When you do, I will do the right thing too.

  "Right of Way" shouldn't be part of the discussion.

  When I ride my bicycle or my Harley, it seems to me that I am smaller than everybody else. Therefore, I make it my aim to stay out of everyone's way, if I can.

  I hate for my life to depend on people seeing me, I'd rather have my life depend on me seeing them.

  Any bicyclist or motorcyclist that passes on the far left on a one way, or between cars in traffic, you just need to have your life insurance up to date.

  Once in a while, all of us make mistakes. That's why they are called accidents.

  Whether LoRu inadvertently pissed off the bicyclist or not, it did not give him the right to ride along side her car cussing her. Neither does it give the right to certain ones on this thread to call her filthy names. It may well have been a mistake that prompted the bicyclist rage. But, road rage leads to problems and he got his come uppance. Recently a friend of mine in Austin Texas hit a young lady on a bike. It caused her to te knocke into oncoming traffic. She was hit head on by another motorist and died. This happened on the NOTORIOUS Loop 360 about a month or so ago. He never saw her.

  When we ride our bikes or motorcycles we'd better learn to yield. Right of way doesn't do much good when you're dead or in the hospital.

  In my opinion, hard core bicyclist have an attitude. Maybe I'm wrong. But, protect yourself especially in view of the phenomenal use of cell phones where car drivers hardly even know where they are.

  Bicycles and cars and trucks don't mix well. Since you are the smallest, be careful.

  i saw this on another discussion board and have no idea if it's accurate or not.

  it is posted that this occurred on sunday during the last talk.

  Sometimes Jehovah puts wrong things in the magazine just to test us. If we don't accept the teaching about the seven trumpets of Revelation then that means we are being unfaithful to Jehovah and his organization. We shouldn't proudly leave the truth just because some of the things taught are clearly not true. We need to accept the false with the true as a test of loyalty to Jehovah's way of doing things.
