  Greetings from Tyler, Texas! I was baptized as a child the first year the Fort Worth Convention Center was used for conventions. Back then it was Tarrant County Convention Center. We would always stay at the Hilton (now Sheraton). I remember being upset no longer going to Will Rogers Coliseum because I loved the architecture.

  I had several favorites from the brown songbook which I grew up with but one was Make the Truth Your Own (the tune more than the lyrics. I liked how it flowed.) I don't understand why they got rid of the original tune. Also why they ditched Be Glad You Nations. The new song book is worse than the 2009 one.

  They want to make sure the applicant is indoctrinated aka brainwash so as to not out a "bad name on Jehovah". Its micromanaging which Jesus specificslly spoke against when he said the pharacies bind people with rules. I can't see Jesus requiring this.

  Heaven forbid the meeting goes over 7 minutes. That two minutes from one talk and five minutes feom the CBS might not be enough. I might need an additional .5th of a minute taken from the bible highlights portion.

  And they need a script for an introduction to the video?? Talk about Theocratic Micromanaging.

  Thin magazine make you think, is it?

  jw father in law in hospital, this weekend, maybe last days of his life.

  with his last energy he was reading a watchtower magazine for comfort.

  i could understand.

  it was pretty mundane for the most part, same songs, same outline.

  the only new thing they added was the video at the end, where stephen lett speaks to the visitors and commends them for coming and recommends they go to jwdotorg and also start a bible study.

  they also showed a bar graph with figures increasing every year for jws, memorial attendance and memorial partakers.

  Watchtower and Awake in the cafeteria of my work place

  someone at my workplace, i don't know who, is a jw and has been leaving magazines in the cafeteria.

  any suggestion as to what i could do?

  i thought of writing up a note stating: "to whoever is bringing these magazine: jw have broken up my family, please don't bring religion to work.

  Calendar of Jehovah's Witnesses

  i was with my mom today shopping and she is still in the organization.

  she is elderly so she doesn't do as much as she used to.

  we went to the store and she purchased a calendar and on the way out she said that she finally got a calendar for this year.

  Compare the JW to a similar religion like the Mormons. They have quality magazines from a professional standpoint comes out once a month not one not two but at least three different magazines that I know of. They still publish them online as well. They have less active door to door as it is not a requirement for all members just missionaries. Instead of a body of men they follow one man they deem a prophet. They have additional scriptures other than the bible yet they are growing faster than JW. Over 16 million now! Jws are shy of 9 million and how many of those are children????
