Was it called: "LIFE HOW DID IT GET HERE - by evolution or creation?" ? I know it was a hardback light blue book with gold or silver embossed title.

Why has the 'Creation' book fallen out of favour with the WTBTS!!!
by Gill inwhy has the 'creation' book, the light blue one, fallen out of favour?
when it came out it was called 'the final nail in the coffin of evolution theory'.. i've heard a bit about there being 'problems' with the book but would like to know if there are specifics and whether the wtbts find the book an embarrassment, which is why they may no longer be using it..

Say hello to my brother
by solo ini'd like to say hello to my brother, he's going to be lurking here tonight.. i've been encouraging him to find out about the history of jws and he's been on the internet finding out a few things.
he is as shocked as i was when i found out things about a religion we were brought up in.
he left a little before me in 1986 i think but unlike me wasn't baptized so his exit was a bit different to mine.. we've been chatting on the fone tonight about how different we might have been if it were not for our upbringing.

DID FOSSILS MAKE YOU DOUBT?
by badboy indid/does discovery of new fossils make you/or those around you doubt the creation version of things?
-

When my husband (skeptic2) would show me fossils, tools used by humans much longer past than 6k years etc., I would get very angry because I knew I couldn't believe it as it went against the teachings of the wt. I had nothing I could say in reply and nothing I could back up my views with. I would end up saying stupid things like 'Satan did it' and then storm off in a huff. So maybe they did make me doubt but I tried to deny it and the pretense made me angry. If I was so certain that I had the truth, I'm sure there would have been no need for anger or arguments, I would have calmly and politely disagreed and continued on in my beliefs unaffected.

POLL : Your reaction IF all religion was suddenly banned worldwide
by fish inim interested in hearing what your personal reaction would be if (i say if because probably 99.9% here believe this will never happen) all the religions of the world were to be suddenly banned/shut down/decommissioned/liquidated/dismembered/etc.. by the political powers of the world.
what would your first post here say?
would it change your view of jehovah...of the "org"?

Whats your worst household chore.........?
by vitty in......................mine has got to be the weekly grocery shop....................oh how i dread and hate it.
i used to think it was the ironing but id rather do a ton of ironing if i didnt have to shop.. its so boring, same food week in week out.................loading it onto the conveyer belt, packing it putting it in the car.........taking it out of the car...........putting it into cupboards then saying " what shall i cook for dinner?
" but by then i just can face the food.. so whats yours?, mowing the lawn and cleaning the car are included .

I really enjoy doing the housework, especially laundry and ironing but am with Nancy Drake & kittyeatzjdubs on the litter tray as it is awful. I hold my breath too, even when pouring in clean litter as the powder clouds up and goes in my sinuses.
I don't like cleaning the oven either as the products I use have awful fumes. When it comes to cooking, I can still smell the fumes and it really stings my eyes when I open the door.
Love everything else though.

Hi Curiousabouthim, welcome to the board.
I wasn't a witness for very long and my husband wasn't at all. We hadn't been married long before I started going to the meetings. The strain on our marriage became evident very quickly. The amount of time we spent apart was a real problem (5 meetings a week, bible studies and field service, also district assemblies and curcuit assemblies.).
Christmas, birthdays, easter etc. was a problem. As was wondering what way our children will be brought up. The pressure from the other witnesses to get my husband interested was a real strain and I knew they would be the same when I had children.
The witnesses would poke their noses into our private life and expect to be given all the information they asked for.
