I like what MARY said about the QUOTES site ,the problem the WTS had with it seems also to be that even though their Literature was being quoted, they did not have the control on how to present and filter it and that would be a major problem for them ,that is no control.

Removing Apostate Lies from the Internet with Legal Action...why not?
by Gill inif a lot of the negative experiences and comments about the watchtower bible and tract society and jehovah's witnesses on the internet really was all apostate lies, surely the wt society would have a legal right to take such supposed slanderers to court and sue to have the information removed.. they were able to remove quotes site just for repeating what they themselves had said.
why do they not take the same action with regard to information they insist is just apostate lies?.

did you leave because you 'couldn't live up to jehovah's standards' or did you leave 'because you woke up and smelt the bull shit?'.

Like others here I thought it was a true privelege to serve with kindness and try to love others and help whenever as I thought that was what Jesus would want as he set such a fine example. Damn I was dissallussioned as time went on as I saw so many of the servant body not have the same spirit I tried to show ,and how perplexing it was to try and get others to share the shepherding work together and just be dissappointed when they only ever talked about this work when the CO was coming and hardly ever did it.
But man were they ever quick to handle a DF'ing when someone erred. Once I had the DO and CO in my home asking me what could be done to help the problems in the congo ,I directed them to a Watchtower on shepherding and they got the point - interesting to note they came to a lowly MS at the time for help when they had not even fronted the elder body yet.

What told you that no holy spirit was moving the BOE?
by Crumpet ini've read on and off here of various things that told people that god's spirit was not directing the organisation.. personally for me on the last time i got dfed it was the fact that i got reinstated by a meeting of the boe at the exact same moment i was smoking my first cigarettes in 7 months.
i didnt question it exactly but it did seem odd.
i mean i had no idea that they were discussing my reinstatement at that moment that i succumbed and had decided in my favour.

Let's see......pick a card......
A: The presiding overseer telling me it's ok for my "repentant " adulterous first wife to keep pioneering (upbuilding for the congo)
B: A bible study of mine was baptised for a while then committed immorality with a congo tart ,upon helping him see the error of his ways I advised to seek the elders help as he was repentant - they DF'd him ,one elder hated the elder father of the lad.
C: Adelaide elder used kingdom hall property as collateral for his building business ,upon being caught out they still let him have priveleges. Then the elders asked the congos to bail out the society as the elders creditors were taking legal action to recoup their money against the kingdom hall.
D: My wifes elder father molesting my wife when little for years and of course he was appointing more fellow servants to the body all that time.
E: My book study conductor who was appointed an elder 14 years previously, he had adultery with his wifes best freind before his appointment and keeping it secret all those years ,then his wifes friend came clean and he had to admitt to it - after fathering more children to his wife over the years and she not knowing a thing.
F: An MS of several years was finally appointed an elder while his wife was in England on holiday ,she not being consulted at all and not finding out till she got back....they had well known marraige problems all those years and he was into pornogrophy and an alchoholic...DF'd 1 year after his appointment.
G: A local Elder who was known to be a drinker and sisters would complain to the other elders for years about his breath at meetings and nothing done till his wife seperated temporarily from him and then they moved to the city to his wifes brothers house who"s an elder ,under the guise of sickness.He was sick all right....he was locally known to kids on the street as the "Pedophile Preacher" he liked to hang around little boys going to public toilets!

Certainly reading others advice and experiences can be beneficial.
My wife molested in and out of the JW's
Me, outside but it helped me understand her issues and surprisingly what happened to her and talking about it has helped heal me too.
We really have compassion for those partners who have had not been molested and later confront this when revealed within the relationship ,it must be hard to fathom.

what was the strangest/worst counsel you recieved from elders ?
by flipper inhaving been in the organization for 30 years, after i got out i reflected on this.
as a teenager i was told to not let my hair grow over my ears because i might stumble other young ones in the congregation.
also, in order to carry the microphones i was told i couldn't wear white socks, had to wear black or dark blue socks.

Worst counsel-
Some years ago my wife and I tried to get her once elder father to confess to incest for a long time on my wife. He was brought before a committee denied all much to our shock and dissapointment ,we hoping he'd confess and gain everlasting life.
The elders told us there was nothing else to do but this - "move interstate it will be better for you"
We foolishly did and moved near my wifes brother ,it was for a few years and the local elders avoided our ongoing concerns about how her case was handled.They were about as glad to help as the other elder body was to send us interstate,we always thought their advice was from Jehovah and we were dissillusioned for years.
When my father was dying I decided we'd move back to be with him ,and adding insult to injury my wifes brother's wife told my wife she was disloyal for going back home!
What loving christian concern from the brothers! When we came back the elders had the hide to enquire what on earth would make us come back! It was making it awkward for them for her father had been doing quick builds ,having book studies etc all those years!
This is for the lurkers - where was Jehovahs direction and spirit? Why is it that none of the rest of the children in her family were ever questioned by the elders?
Why is it that the only people to listen and give good advice was the police and now the lawyers handling my wifes case? All her family have abandoned her including those also molested or witnesses to it?
Just as well I love her for noone who calls themself god or a JW has or does ,where was the divine elder counsel when she needed it?
And remember this is only one case of bad counsel ,no wonder we and others leave.
