My fading brother(ex-PO) thinks he was marked this week!
by nvrgnbk inand he doesn't even post here cause he's afraid of his wife.
lol!.
she came home from meeting thursday night and told him they had a local needs about the difference between "willfully" inactive ones and "discouraged" inactive ones.

There's that WTS black and white thinking again - two classes of inactive ones "willfully" and "discouraged" ones.
My question is what about the "willfully discouraged" ones?

Ah but do you really know what you know by knowing what you know?

Watchtower Changes- Pointed Counsel - what -speculate
by stillajwexelder inwe all know that the watchtower changes are supposed to allow more "pointed counsel".
this will be coming quite soon - i already have my september magazines - so only 6 more issues and we will be into the january 2008 issues.
what are some of the issues that may be addressed in this pointed counsel?.

This is perhaps an example of what Stilla was referring to : Watchtower Sept.2007 in an article "HOW TO CULTIVATE LOVE FOR GOD IN YOUR CHILD'S HEART" page 10 under the heading "Selecting Associates"
"Moreover ,it is worthwhile to make oppotunities for our children to meet Jehovah's Witnesses who have taken up the full-time ministry as their career in life.
Many who have chosen that course did so because of associating with zealous servants of God. A sister who became a missionary says " My parents invited Pioneers for a meal on numerous occasions. They were obviously so happy in their ministry that I wanted to serve God in the same way" "
Of course , our childrens attitudes can be influenced both for good and for bad. The dangers of bad associations therefore challenge our skills as parents. 1 Cor 15:33 It is an art to teach youngsters how to avoid socializing with those who neither love Jehovah nor know him. Prov 13:20Shawn quoted earlier says "We taught our youngsters to have freindly working relationships with schoolmates but to leave those relationships there - mat school. Our children understood why they should not share in extracurricular activities or school sports events"
There you go, notice how cunningly they use the third person quote to drive the law down ,they don't directly lay down a law such as "no JW parent will allow sports school events etc to be part of there childrens life" but they use the model example to drive the law home and then no-one can accuse them of being wrong!
As for parents searching out Pioneers to encourage their kids ,I honestly think in a lot of areas parents would have a battle to find any of these model people to help them.
No mention of Prince ,the Williams sisters etc just take our pointed laws thru third person advocates.

Sept KM - how those "still in" can comment
by still_in74 inwell all, we know this is a big deal.
i for one will sit there during the discussion of this ariticle wanting to scream yet i will say nothing if i am not prepared, and of course i have to "comment" with an angle that doesnt arouse suspicion.. so here it is folks, we need to put together brief, very well worded comments to use during these meetings.
any takers?

Arthur enlightened us with:
""Just as the forbidden fruit was appealing to the eyes of Eve, we must remember that Satan also disguises the wisdom of this world in an attractive package. We might view various publications written by worldly scholars and members of Christendom as appealing to our intellect. This would be foolhardy on our part. Satan would like nothing more than to draw us away from Jehovah's spiritual banquet, and to chase after the empty deceptions of this world. We must readily partake of the timely spiritual food that is lovingly provided to us by the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class; never allowing ourselves to develop an independent spirit."
You're scarin' me man ,just shows that even an apostate can write shit like that and be apparently credible!

We had a JW at the door today...how I handled it..
by megsmomma inmy first instinct was to tell him to go away and my husband was going to answer the door and i said, just tell him we are disfellowshipped.
(i am da'd....he hasn't ever been, but, he is "guilty by association" and conciders himself da'd too...).
so, it is one older man and he is handing out the "follow the christ" convention invitation.

Nice going Megsmomma , I think it's not so much you challenged him but that you had the kindness and courage to talk with him about truth .
Whether he actually remembers what you said matters not ,for if he was any real truthseeker he should have been moved and perhaps troubled by your sincerity.

A time for war at the family reunion-this apostate don't take crap!
by dawg ini just finished another of my famous letters i send to many of my family members... i've been told that i shouldn't come to the family reunion becasue i'm an apostate.
in my letter i stated that i in fact am going to be there stupid watchtower quotes in hand.
the first family member that shuns me will hear me read off every stupid statement that they've ever made... i said that i'm also bringing my bible and that i want someone in the family to show me in it where it states that i don't have the right to question the dictates of men and by my so doing i should be shunned!.

Wow Leolaia that are incredible pictures ,especially the last one , when one considers the sheer size and weight of the structures ,and considers they are sitting on a raft or pier and raft foundation.
Then if they pretty much imploded straight down ,they would have rocked their own foundations thru shock enough to shake and weaken surrounding buildings, surely.

My daughter in law's sister was working nearby and I guess she's pretty convinced planes hit the towers.
As to who really organised them I'm not going to pretend I know but the conspiricy theorist's seem to be plenty.
Could it be that they thrive is because of the developement of the American idealistic thinking that it truly is god's country protected by him ,and has rights to be the model of freedom and happy living for all? Perhaps they just can't accept that this hugely powerful government with all of it's agencies could ACTUALLY be caught unawares and incompetent ,so it's perhaps easier to believe in a small vein of corrupt and powerful people in America that caused this rather than what might be the truth?
In a way it would be comparable to believing in the WTS and then finding out it was bullshit ,so it must be a conspiracy(like the tales of the fake german elder in WW11 searching for all the brothers names), then this thinking moves on to " being just a small rogue element at the upper levels of the WTS. "
