How DARE he?! This is why I'm still Single!!!
by stillAwitness inwell, i was dating this guy and its been a long time since i have even been with anyone that i thought was worthwhile.
i've been focusing on other things and with everything else going on with trying to gain my independance i just have not wanted to get caught up.
anyways, how dare the guy i was seeing call the whole jw mind-cult issue "stupid" when i tried to explain to him why i am the way i am (awful social skills, the simple excitement from just being around a new scene, etc.

Stilla, it bothers me that he was insensitive to something that's important to you. Would this be a pattern for him, to treat you this way as time went on? The JW issues are something you need understanding and compassion with, and he doesn't understand. Do you really need this?

Back from my surgery; talked to hospital staff about JW's and blood!
by Virgochik ini'm home from my surgery.
it went very well, and i didn't need a blood transfusion, tho i signed a consent for one if needed.
i was able to talk to my surgeon and three different nurses about jw's and blood transfusions.

The admitting nurse was curious why I had a note flagged in the system, not to give out any info about me to anybody but my husband. I explained about my JW family and blood. She had heard of JW's but nothing about their position on blood. I filled her in! My surgeon was unaware that the Dubs had softened their stance to allow Hemopure or blood fractions. She basically felt that working with JW patients made a doctor's job more difficult, and couldn't understand refusal of a life saving treatment. The other two nurses were more upset by the shunning and disfellowshipping of a family member that could happen if someone had a transfusion. That really bothered them, that someone could actually be cut off from their family just for taking blood.

I'm home from my surgery. It went very well, and I didn't need a blood transfusion, tho I signed a consent for one if needed. I was able to talk to my surgeon and three different nurses about JW's and blood transfusions. I had requested that my JW relatives not be told if I did have a transfusion. One nurse seemed unfamiliar with the JW beliefs, so I gave her a background on their views, and the fact that they would be expected to shun and disown me if I accepted a life saving blood transfusion. She was quite shocked that family would treat me that way. The other two nurses and my doctor about turned green when I said all my relatives were JW's, and I did not want the information shared with them, if I got a transfusion. They were very relieved when I said I wasn't a JW any more, and I had a good opportunity to discuss the blood issue and how members are treated for having a transfusion. I was pretty groggy, but I put out some info to at least four more medical professionals about this matter. Every little bit helps!

And now, as we go our separate ways...
Let us bow our heads in prayer...
Myriads of angels are watching us...
Worldwide association of brothers...
Keeping them in our thoughts and prayers...
Do we not agree, brothers?
Undeserved kindness and rich spiritual blessings...

'I could easily kill someone' said the P.O.
by lowden ininspired by one of the other threas on todays board i was remindedof what the po of my 'then' cong' said just befors i left for good.. can't remember what the subject was but he ended up quite proudly announcing.....'if jehovah asked me to.....i would have no trouble killing someone, i would find it easy'!!
stunned silence.......this man is now a circuit overseer!
the phrase 'crazed extremist' comes to mind.. what was the most unbelievable, outrageous thing that was uttered in your earshot.

Those were the uplifting children's books that gave me such nightmares! And we weren't supposed to bat an eye at the carnage and suffering our loving God would soon bring upon the wicked, who deserved it, anyway!
Lol, about that poor cat, Lilycurly! Guess it's to show, God is SO angry, he doesn't care who gets in the way when he hurls a fireball! Also, I noticed the clothing...all conservative in style, with all the women in dresses and the males in pants. What a very chauvinistic religion, and wierdly bloodthirsty too!

12 years ago today
by free2beme ini stood on that witness stage and got married.
the talk was long and boring, and meant to convert all of our non-witness relatives.
the music was pre picked to make sure it was clean enough for a witness gathering, and the drive to our honeymoon location was as fast as the car could go ... wonder why?

That was a nice story, free2bme. Thanks for sharing! And happy anniversary, and many more.
