  When Do You Read or Post Here Most Often???

  My hubby just laid down some rules to my elder dad

  recently an elder called mike's mob phone wanting to speak to me, the only person who could have passed on that info was my elder dad.

  mike has been waiting for my dad to call him to arrange to see the kids, as he wont deal with me at all.

  so mike said to him i dont appreciate you giving our number out to the elders, we want nothing to do with them or your religion etc... mike than called me and said there was so much more i wanted to tell him.. i get a phone call about 30 mins later, mike had rang my dad and said if you want to see your grandkids then there are a few rules you will need to follow, 1. dont ever give out our personal details (which my dad apologised for and acknowldeged that he shouldnt have done that ) and 2. if you want to see your grandkids you need to speak to your daughter, you can msg her phone or even speak to her.

  It's ridiculous how that religion can teach it's members such vile behaviour, and commend them for it! Sheesh! Good on Mike for "settin' down the law".

  UPDATE ON DANSK

  it's been a long time since i posted here but i often read your messages when ian (dansk) logs on.

  as most of you will know, ian will be going back into hospital on monday for an allogeneic stem cell transplant and will be away from the forum for a good few weeks (hopefully he'll be back home within 4-6 weeks).

  last time he was in hospital many of you sent messages to his ward and i know they cheered him up immensely.

  Race! Why is it important?

  well, this is just going to be about some misunderstandings, i guess..

  why is it that most "americans" or people in the u.s. consider "hispanics/latinos" and spaniards to be the same?

  spaniards are caucasian.

  P.S, One of my favorite T.V. shows is Sanford and Son. I watch it on TVLand every chance I get, been watching since I was a little kid. I remember my dad saying when I was about 9 (I was born in 1963...I know...that little revelation makes me an old fart) years old, "There's a new show we can watch when we get home from Book Study tonight, it's called Sanford and Son". Man that Redd Foxx was a funny man.

  From TV.com - Sanford and Son first aired in January of 1972 on NBC as a mid-season replacement. The series was the second series created by the All in the Family creator, Norman Lear and it was based on the British sitcom, Steptoe and Son . Sanford and Son was the first sitcom that Lear created that had a cast composed mostly of African Americans.

  well, this is just going to be about some misunderstandings, i guess..

  why is it that most "americans" or people in the u.s. consider "hispanics/latinos" and spaniards to be the same?

  spaniards are caucasian.

  You know...the troof is...I love everybody. No matter who you are. Throughout my life I've had the best of friends: Black, Mexican (or if you ask a Mexican it's Messican) Phillipino, Asian, Italian...you name it. The beauty of this is/was the exposure I had to these different cultures. The food, the way they think, the way they live. Not getting sappy on you here, but...that's what makes this world so beautiful, is it's diversity.

  From time to time, I may make a little racial slur here and there. You know why? Cuz I'm poking fun at how stupid the whole racial issue is. I'm poking fun at the whole human family that makes such a big deal about nothing.

  • What would the world look like without Blacks? Or African Americans? Or whatever you prefer to be called. (No offense intended, I love you all, just don't know what you prefer)
  • What would the world look like without Italians?
  • What would the world look like without Messican's? (My very first girlfriend was a Messican cutie, and what a family she had, wonderful, loving, generous, hospitable people)

  You get the point, we all need each other. Hitler tried to wipe out the Jews, we all know how that ended, not good. I say we ban racially charged threads, they seem to go downhill so fast, and nothing encouraging comes from them. I say, if we can't say something nice to one another, let's not say it at all.

  After all, who really cares about the differences between Hispanics and Latino's? Maybe they're not the same, but a topic like that is just going to get people "all worked up" and I think JustaHuman knew that we he posted. Shame on you!

  in which i said.... this is strange, i read that in 1995 they did away with the "generation" teaching, yet the official watchtower website still says this, over 12 years later !.

  thus, all the features of the last days must take place within the lifetime of one generation, the generation of 1914. so some people who were alive in 1914 will still be alive when this system comes to its end.

  AO, that *is* interesting, the link does not work now. LadyLiberty had pointed out quite some time ago that the "generation" teaching was still on the WT website, now it's gone. Maybe we're actually *helping* them clean house.

  Did you have to dress up for meeting?

  i remember having to dress up for every meeting even the ones during the week.

  i had to wear a botton down shirt dress pants, a tie, dress shoes, dress socks and a blazer.

  this was also required by my parents to dress up when going door to door.

  I actually liked wearing a suit and tie, still do to business meetings. Gotta be a nice one though, no Sears specials. I actually clean up pretty good and if feels great to have a suit on, shows you mean business. Ahh, well...it works for me anyway.
