i woke up to my kids all sick, a letter in the mailbox (put there sneakily sometime early this morning) saying that we should 'return to serve jehovah and become one of the family again' (cannot understand the association of meeting attendance = being part of a family.
family is family no matter what they choose to believe.
) and to top it all off, our 10 year old dog who has been really sick past week, had to be put down a couple of hours ago.

Sorry to hear you're having such a bad day. Maybe a rose or (2) will cheer you up. It's a sad day when your best buddy has to be put down. I've been through it a few times myself, I know how it feels. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

That is/was an amazing story, I was late for work because of it. No harm done though, I'm sefl employed. I sure hope you've got the next installment ready, we want to hear the rest of the story. You went through soo much, it was amazing to read how you just kept trying to cope with all of it. What really worries me, is how many have and are going through the same thing. when my father spoke to me he said other than emergencies he could have no contact with me, thats fine im cool with that.
but i just got a phone call from hubby from my dad who is apparently holidaying in new zealand, to let me know that my great uncle passed away last night.
Geeeeeeeez! If that's not an emergency, what is? Maybe you shouldn't call him when you die!! LOL

as many of you know, i am a witness who still attends for the sake of my wife.
my meeting attendance has dropped to about 50% and i make maybe 1 hour a month in field service, although i report more than this to keep the elder's off my back.. after several months of this, the result has been noticeable.. those who used to be friendly and greet me no longer do so.
some even avoid me.
Hang in there TS, most of us have been through the same thing. It's all about loving those that are the performers. If you don't perform, you don't get any love. Don't worry bout it, there's plenty of love elswhere. Heck, I've recieved more love from "worldly people" than I ever had from "christs followers". Going to the Kingdom Hall became sooo difficult because of such a lack of love, I dreaded it. I could feel people talking about me and my family behind my back. Do your best to love others, regardless of their faith, and love will come running back to you.

OK,...let me straighten this out before everyone thinks I hate big boobs (actually I love em'), or that I hated Anna Nicole Smith, or that I hated her because she was smart enough to use her femininity (attractiveness, sexuality, etc...) to marry the old rich guy, or that I think she was anything but a georgeous talented woman (I don't know if she was really very talented, but I do know she had her own reality show which doesn't require talent). For the record, it saddens me that she, or anyone else loses their life, regardless of the problems life presents to them. A point well taken is (and this ISN'T an ANS hater statement as some of you may jump to conclude) she is no different than the woman that died by, or in the pool, she just had a high profile life and we all followed it because we like to see what the lives of others are all about. I don't hate ANS, I just think she was VERY self destructive. Look, if you run your vehicle out of motor oil and don't do anything about it, the engine will eventually blow up, that's exactly what happened here. She ran her life on drugs, drinking, and whatever else you can think of until her life blew up, that's it, no further explanation needed. I apologize if I've offended anyone, please don't take it as personal attack, I've just got my own opinion on the matter. We've got service men and women over in Iraq that are dying daily in the name of freedom, but we don't make a big to-do about it like we've done with ANS, what gives? Not that I'm all for fighting in Iraq, but it's just food for thought. I've come to love everyone on this board, and I respect everyone's viewpoint, so I don't intend to offend, I've just got my own ideas on her life, perhaps I shouldn't share them if it offends others.

Your comment is more derogatory towards yourself than to the dead woman you refer to. You expose yourself much more than she ever did, friend. She likely died much richer than you, and I don't speak of money.
(1) It's a fact she was a topless dancer, and danced for money.
(2) I'm not your friend, nor do I intend to become such.
(3) I don't mind exposing myself, that's what this forum is for, like it or not.
(4) How can you be sure she died richer than me? You don't know me and therefore cannot qualify your statement.
