  What impact did the internet have on your decision to leave the JW's?

  on another thread, a co says that sites like these don't have much impact on their numbers.. personally i didn't leave because of this site or any other xjw site.. i was unhappy and felt that something was wrong and this site confirmed what i felt.. how about you?

  I was out before, but places like this helped me get over the hurt, very quickly and see the truth about the truth.

  i am from the dallas area, wnet to oakcliff, beverly hills, waxahachie, ennis, plano, richardson.

  was raised aroud it.

  have known allot of people for a long time from oakcliff and beerly hills, and cedar hills.

  Looking for some insight on why some people here do this

  i left the witness religion in 1997, and when i left i never turned back and do not even own or read any of their publications.

  i know it is wrong, beyond all doubt, so why waste my time at their meetings, conventions or assemblies.

  why read information that is known to be bias, hurtful and not very well thought out?

  I also think everyone has their own way of dealing with leaving. I personally threw away any piece of jdub crap I had, I recentle found another book that was hidden away, it also went strait to the trash can. I refuse to read any of it. It just brings back bad memories for me. But then, that's just me

  i read someone's post today where he indicated as a jw he had a guilty conscience because he didn't have a submissive wife.

  i'm trying to wrap my brain around that.

  reading hellriders topic made me wonder about this.. i waited till i was 21 because i was drinking alcohol as a youth and didn't want to get baptized while breaking the law.

  man that is screwed up, seemed reasonable at the time.
