not posting so much lately

i haven't been posting so much recently, but it's not because i've had enough of you all.

actually it's for a good reason.. my firm enrolled me on a home study course in a field similar to my current career but slightly more advanced.. ironically, several weeks after me enrolling on the course, they announced my department is being outsourced to india and we are all to loose our jobs at the end of march.. strangely enough, i'm not too worried about that, it's happened to me 3 times before with the same firm and i always found something else.

in fact, i might not even bother.

Beating your kids

i've been lurking here a long time.

one of the topics that i rarely see disscussed is how many of you parents beat their kids because the religion told them to?

if so did you really beat your kids (after reading from the bible) or did you ignore the rule?

When I was growing up, I got what you called "whoopings" even before my parents came into the "truth." I didn't view it as abuse. I knew that every lick I got, I deserved, but then again, I was a very outspoken and smart ass kid. I don't think spanking is considered abuse.

hello i am not a jw but would like to know what is it that you belive and why and how you prove it bibliclay and what any of you think of the teachings good or bad is welcomed thank you

Hon, just to let you know, this is an ex-JW site for the most part. I think that some of our opinions are biased because we do not believe in what the religion entails anymore. And Kris is right... it is a very loaded question. I guess everyone's beliefs will vary on this site. As for me, I'm to the point, where I'm not sure what I believe when it comes to being a JW. I know that something that tears families apart and has use false dates isn't something that I think God would want me to believe in. But I think I do believe in a higher being, whether it is god or not, I'm not 100% sure yet. I have my whole life now to figure that out.
