.got married at 19 (biggg mistake) because as you know "dating is only for marriage" (obviously not for trying to get to know someone better) and was married 11 months after i met my ex-husband.

i felt a lot of pressure from both families to get married.

Attitudes of JCs

i just finished reading crisis of conscience.

i had read half of it but never finished; something i read on this forum prompted me to pick it up & finish it.. my question is this: i'm curious, for those who have had experience with judicial committees, what has been the prevailing attitude?

franz wrote about the lack of brotherly love in both the committees at hq in ny and in the cong in alabama.. i've had two experiences; won't go into the details for the sake of brevity.

With the few that I had, they were very kind and compassionate with me. I think its because I was the "example" in our congregation for younger kids, so they tried to reason with me as best as I could - first time - I repented and cried and I think that's why.

Watchtower claim to be a small business to avoid Privacy Act. What do I do?

i sent a letter to the wts requesting my personal records under the privacy act.

they refused so i went to the office of the privacy commissioner.

i just received a letter back saying they can not investigate it as the watchtower is a small business.

Since New York is the headquarters, do you think they send the money there as a "bill" so that they can only claim so much money to make them a small business in Austrailia? I knwo with our congregation, it shows for us we only ahve like 3,000, but we have 150,000 on reserves in New York.

it's hard to know where to begin, so i'll just... begin.. i had my first encounter with jw in high school when my now ex-husband moved into our small town.

(you're doing the math already, aren't ya?

:) ) after finding out he was a jw, i did a little bit of reading into it, which he discouraged... told me that that stuff is "apostate" (i had no idea what that meant) and that he'd give me stuff to read.
