This really disgusts me. How can they be so shallowminded and if you think about it, its really unethical... we will forgive child molestors, but if your son/daugther wants to review life on their own... well hot damn, we do not want to be around you. How is that coming from someone who loves us? This is BS!

Divorce for emotional abuse?
by somebodylovesme inbecause of a recent family situation (always a good time!
), i've been in a debate with a jw relative about whether the society permits divorce (without remarriage) where there is emotional abuse.
this relative swears the literature has said that a person can leave her spouse where there is emotional abuse, but that she cannot remarry.

When a brother and his wife went through a separation they made him step down. And when they got a divorce they said that he could not help out at the hall anymore because he is not right in jehovahs eye. I overheard my dad on the phone with him.

Great Educational Tool for those studying or thinking of studying with JWS
by sf ini was doing some web surfing and catching up on my reading and came upon a post i hope may help some lurkers and seekers understand better what they are getting themselves into or may have already gotten into, by studying the bible with jws.. i surely hope it is not going against any rule to copy/paste this.
i will not include anything but the text.
i will say though that it is from a longstanding exjw support board that can be found here:.

I remember my parents talked to me once a month just to make sure I was still alive. Those conversations were not pleasant at all. My mom would tell me how big of a mistake I made (she also told me she wished she would've never had me if she knew how I was going to turn out) and how I ruined their lives because my dad had just become a ministerial servant and how would that look on the family.
And then when I got reinstated, my mom told me how much of a burden I was because the book study had to move from our house and my dad had to step down until I got reinstated because, "that would look bad to the congregation."

What is happening to the Austrailian people and the U.S people? Where are we sending people to?

Do you think that the JW's really care if they bring people to the Org.
by JH ini think that as long as they think they are saved, they really don't care if people listen to them.

Whenever I would go door to door, after I would place magazines I would accidently lose the paper that my return visits were on. I'm surprised have a year of Regular Auxiliary pioneering that noone noticed that I only had one bible study and that was with my cousin, lol.

Did you think that you knew more ?
by A Paduan in.
as a jw, were you convinced that you knew more theologically than "those in christendom", yet hadn't really even read the bible ?
more than say, a monk who over a thousand years ago hand wrote one, and read it everyday ?

I didn't really think I knew anything except how cute the boy was that sat two aisles over. I would make comments just to impress him. Turns out, he's DF'ed now.

House OKs bill guarding Pledge from courts
by Kenneson inthe house, today, citing the religious origins of the u.s., signed a bill to protect the pledge of allegiance from federal judges attemping to stop schoolchildren and others from reciting it because of the phrase "under god.
" the bill passed 260-167. next, it goes to the senate.
do you think this is a right decision?.

I'm not sure. I think that it should be allowed if parents let their children, I really think it should be up to the family. What is the origin of the pledge of allegiance?

Dead loved one calls home
by Steve Lowry intoday, while at doctors appointment i met a lady in the waiting room and i just wanted to relay her story.
she was eighty-two years old and sharp as a tack.
we were exchanging pleasantries while waiting our turn to get in when she told about her four children.

I am very open to these sorts of things, but I am afraid to let them in. When I read these stories I get goosebumps though.
