What is wrong with this picture?

i am new to these boards, but there is one thing i just don't get.

correct me if i am wrong, but most, not all, of these boards are for what i like to call "recovering ex jw's".

so then why is it, that we have "active jw's" posting on these boards.

Welcome Worldly Girl! True, some active JW's come here, sometimes to monitor things and many because they are curious and need a little extra information so they know that getting out is the right thing to do. This is a great board, I think you'll meet some goof friends and get the support you need. I'm D/F'd like many others here. Email me if you're bored!

my brother the circuit overseer

hi everyone, third generation dubber here who had enough sense to leave eight years ago, after utterly wasting thirty years of my life.

i ve faced everything most of you all have,(loss of family and life long friends, and hardships trying to learn how to relate to the world around us) but now i am now enjoying all the best that life has to offer.

just wanted to relate my first hand experiance of how loyalty to the crotchtower is put above everything else even blood.

Too much bad language, sex & pics

please can everyone think twice before they make posts containing bad language (even if not directed at individuals), graphic sex talk and nude or semi-nude pictures (especially if explicit).

this is not what the forum is here for.

if you want to post stuff like that then there are lots of places on the internet for it and, more importantly, if people want to see and read stuff like that then they are quite capable of going to these places themselves.. i know everyone likes to 'let their hair down' now and again, me included, and i like pictures of sexy women as much as anyone .

Voice your opinion- Organised religion.

my main problem with organised religion is when totalitarianism comes into play.

thats when you get institutions like the catholic church in its earlier years.

Pepper- It was Marx that originally stated that "Religion is the opiate of the people". But no biggie. Anyway, his point can be seen, especially when applied to JW's. The JW's are part of that apathetic 50% of the voting population that doesn't turn up to vote that ends up pissing us all off. They are waiting for Jehovah to fix all our problems; in turn those in power love it because they are dealing with a content and ignorant population. But now I'm getting off the subject. I agree with Simon; in a "utopian" world religion would serve no purpose. But that's not realistic. At this point we can at least see the problems with organized religion: corruption, manipulation (basically everything that comes with setting up a system based on a hierarchy).
