What Are You All Doing Now?
by Tish ini am at a crossroads in my life, and wanted your opinions:.
i have been d/f for 18 months, i have learnt enough to know jws are completely misguided, but my sis has also been d/a for questioning things, she has been doing the alpha course and is getting baptised at a baptist church next weekend, which i am very pleased for her to be doing if she feels it's right.
i am in a quandry as i am very sceptical about going to another religion, i know many i have spoken to say, it isn't joining a religion but just associating with other christians.

Well, what I'm doing right NOW is goofing off at work. My little patients are generally asleep at this time. But it looks like we are all talking about what's going on in our lives since leaving the "troof". I've been through my own cycles of belief vs. non-belief and even converted to Reform Judaism at one point a couple of years ago. Now, none of it is a priority(religion as a whole). I'm still just working on guiding my own hate towards the organization into constructive things, though I'm not always doing too hot of a job at that. Hell, I even moved halfway across the damn country to start my life over. Ah well. There's my 2 cents

Compare-the WTS & the Chinese Communists
by singsongboi ini have a long time interest in china -- and continual amazement at the similarities between the way the wts presents it's propaganda and the way theat the chinese communists do it....... last sunday, in beijing, a fire in an internet cafe killed 24 people - there was a swift response from the "leadership" -- all 2200 internet cafes in beijing were closed as a result.
just like politicians in the west, this was clearly a knee-jerk response by beijing leaders, as they tried to make sure that they could not be blamed for poor supervision of the growth of these places.. but the really interesting thing, is the way that the state owned media jumped on the bandwagon and the language they used..... .
"don't let the internet bars destroy kids" - headline in the people's daily.. .

I'm with Jeff on this one...............The government doesn't always get things therribly right nowadays..neither does a trial before a "jury of your peers"(local morons with itchy trigger fingers).

Witnesses Are Great Folks
by FrankRaven ini know i'll get a lot of flack from this,but witnesses are good folks.and your average witness is concerned about you,non-witness.i've been there and i almost became one.my ex did become one.
it's not what they are taught by the watchtower,it's how one is taught.if one was what a witness was taught there wouldn't be any witnesses.it's how one is taught.most of the witnesses always told me,if you have any questions there's a book by the society that will answer your question.
(s)the watchtower is persistent.well so was i.the more books i read that the watchtower wrote,the more questions i had.and i,always,made sure i stayed on the topic.they never did.they always avoided my questions.and they are real good at that.
