Just whining...feel like a bucket of ice water dumped on me.
by Gregor ina couple of days ago i had finally forced myself to set down and fill in a form document that was downloaded with adobe as a pdf.
i had been putting this off as long as possible because it was so tedious and boring but i now had to complete it.
four hours and a gallon of coffee later i was on the 11th and final page when i backspaced to correct a typo...yeah, that's right...poof!

Another @$#%^! witness song stuck in my head!

Okay, I am sitting outside laughing out loud--I immediately knew and sang all the songs mentioned--EXCEPT JoJo's. Must be out of the "new" book.
And I got a double dose as a kid, as my mom played the piano at the hall and practiced ALOT. Even my aborted piano lessons included "Jehovah....is our refuge....our god...in whom we trust"

Is there one thing that keeps you from going back?
by nsrn ini had email contact this week for the first time with an old boyfriend--haven't seen him in 28 years!
i'm trying to compose an answer...there are a hundred reasons why i will never go back, but how to sum it up?
i'm thinking along the lines of "i just don't believe that the society/gb is god's representative on earth" and see if he presses further.. suggestions, anyone?.

I had email contact this week for the first time with an old boyfriend--haven't seen him in 28 years! We are catching up on family, etc, and he asks if there is one thing that keeps me from going back to the "Truth". He says he's been in and out all his adult life, but doesn't say why yet.

Suggestions, anyone?
And wouldn't it be great if he lurked on this board?
BTW, this guy was my first love, my first kiss...and when I got the email I turned back into a sweaty-palmed 15 year old!

Help me find a thread, in last week or so, about fearing armaggedon...
by nsrn inin the past week or so, there was a mention of someone reading the bible again, going back to the hall, because of fear of armaggedon and world conditions being so bad.... does that ring a bell to anyone?
i had someone mention that same circumstance this week and i wanted to re-read the thread.. is there any way to do a search on this site?'.

Nope, still not the one I'm looking for. Maybe I dreamed it! But this is the only board I haunt. Maybe it was just a single comment in a thread, but I could have sworn on a stack of Watchtowers that someone spoke of reading the Bible every day now, in fear of Armaggedon just around the corner...

When you pray to God, who answers your prayers, Jesus or Jehovah?
by JH in13 also, whatever it is that you ask in my name, i will do this, in order that the father may be glorified in connection with the son.
so is it correct to say that if we ask jehovah something in prayer, it's jesus that will grant the prayer, since he said "if you ask in my name, i will do it"?.
i always thought that it was jehovah whom we pray to, and he was the one who would answer our prayer, not jesus.

Here is a link to a Catholic site of prayers to the Holy Spirit. The one that starts "Come, Holy Spirit, and fill the hearts of your faithful...." is also used in our Methodist Church some.

"Hemophiliacs are like vampires!"
by rebel8 inas i have talked about before, i have a serious bleeding disorder, not hemophilia though.
back in the dark ages of the '70s, the medical term used was "pseudo-hemophilia".
because i did not get appropriate medical care (thanks to the wts), i spent many hours during meetings sitting in the smelly ladies room at the kh trying to control my nosebleeds.

Excuse me, jw, but you would recommend fish oil???? That is exactly the kind of non-educated, non-medical advice that witnesses give. I am pretty certain you are not a hematologist, and you do not know what clotting factor this particular type of coagulopathy involves. This poster is not asking for pseudo-medical advice, but is recalling a painful part of her childhood.
Rebel8, I so wish you had not been told such things as child! I hope you are well managed now. I can remember some folks from our hall who were capable of saying things like that.
