i love this music.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvyohy_bykq.

Some of those photos remind me of Margaret Keane - artist in the 60's who drew pictures of children with BIG eyes - who later became a JW.

i had a wonderful thanksgiving with my husband's family and we spent the night.
the next morning we had a good breakfast and decorated the tree.
and my mother in law (my husband's step mom, who i adore and love) gave out early christmas gifts... ornaments, and a wow wow huge christmas cross to hang on the wall!
I understand the feelling. I've had people give me beautiful angels and fairies. Neither of which do anything for me and yet I know they were given from a very warm and loving part of their hearts. Still they just don't sit well with me and I have given most of them away.
Interesting to hear the cross being a sign of intense love.
Actually, I had never heard that. But it does make sense.

this might seem to be a silly question, but if jw are allowed to accept certain blood fractions, they could consider participating in providing these fractions?
would be ok for a jw to donate his/her blood, if it is under the condition that it can only be used for the production of specified fractions?
has anyone asked the society (gb) this question, or is there already a thread on this?
Nope. Not allowed to give blood.
It's also hypocritical to accept aid from Red Cross, etc but they pretty much refuse to contribute. (Although contributing to Red Cross is not a judicial offence, AFAIK)

so, there we all are in the break room in my place of work, and the topic turns to the holiday shopping madness.
this co-worker starts to say how expensive this holiday season has been for him and that he's still not done, and too bad when the day comes the family members will find fault or something else wrong with his gifts, and to make things worst, that the wife also was purchasing gifts with his credit card so he feared the january statement.. so, i jokingly told him that one way he can remedy that is by telling his family that he's been studying the bible and that he won't be celebrating christmas this year as he's studying to become a jw.
they all laughed loudly and the guy, second by others in the room, told me that i just didn't know how good i had it being a jw this time of the year.

Actually, I know many people who celebrate without going to excess. It's really a matter of personal choice and self-control as too how much someone will spend.
As a JW, I had the same response as DY about giving at any time during the year. I really wanted to believe it and, to an extent, did believe that the holiday's were just selfish and bothersome. At the same time I realized that we were really missing out on some wonderful memory-making traditions and experiences.
Non-JWs can and do also give at non-holiday occaisions, too.
@Mary - Yikes! I think the a**hole comment was unwarranted.

It works that way on Google, too. And many other search engines/features.
For a specific phrase, put it between quotation marks like this: "The Sound of Music"+"Julie Andrews". Or whatever exact phrases you want to search for.
Happy Searching! Glad to help.

But Outlaw, her concern is how to quickly find her favorite and most-pertinent posts after she has amassed a posting history as expansive as yours.
It takes alot of time to wade through 18913 separate pages of posts. Doesn't it?
