am i correct that jw marrying a non-jw is frowned upon but not forbidden?
if it's not forbidden, would the elders do the marriage in the kh?
i know the jw is forbidden to attend a non-jw religious ceremony, so another church would be out.
I'm pretty sure that in most congregations the entire bridal party is expected/required to be members 'in good standing' or else they will not allow a KH ceremony.
My unbaptized brother married a baptized & active JW about 12 years ago. Because the future daughter-in-law was not marrying 'in the Lord' (my mother's son), my mother was advised to go to the Courthouse Wedding. Two days before the wedding mom got the OK to attend. (She was pissed and hurt that noone wanted her suggestions about cake, flowers, and catering.]
So the simple concensus is: NO. Definitely not allowed in KH. Go to Justice of the Peace.

Please, please Mister Postman???
if any of you were elders how is the transfer from a congregation handled?
how do elders know where to send the proclaimer's file and letter of recommendation?
does it go through the local branch if in the same country?
Can the process be hijacked?
Are you trying to see if you can 'intercept' the process and take possession of your records and publisher record card?
If so, someone here may be able to help you.

if i am to write and send the minimal of a da letter, stating that i do not consider myself a jw (baptized as a minor), what do i need to include in the letter to make it valid?
1. who should the letter be addressed to?
(do i need to send duplicates: one to local cong, one to headquarters?).
If you submit yourself to *any* of their 'requirements' then you are, well, still under their control.
If you choose to write something, here is one of the most simple DA Letters you can do:
Tack a note to the KH door that says: "Dear Watchtower Society - You're Fired! Sincerely, Alias"
This idea taken from this thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/115099/1/I-fired-the-Watchtower-Society
Congrats on your decision to leave. Myself, I am not DF'd and did not DA. Merely up and walked out of the Hall in the middle of a talk one day.

Check the link my post AFTER the one about Farkel's article. It references a Watchtower from the 1940's and the photo looks to be the same size.

Could the photo be from The Watchtower November 1, 1924 ??
That could be implied from this article: http://www.watchthetower.net/booze.html
