  Oh! How did I miss that you also posted here on JWN?

  I found your YouTube channel a few months ago and LOVE your videos!

  This one about copyright was great. Congrats on getting written proof that your work is noticed.

  One of my favorite clips is where young (teenage) witnesses have to sneak out of the house in order to have any sort of normal social interaction. It sure reminded me of a few of my own adventures.

  Thanks for presenting truths with good humor.

  it's been about 10 years since i was df'd.. just recently i started to see a therapist and i am trying to get across the depth of the effects of growing up a witness.

  PS: I think BerryGerry's suggestion for your therapist to get the cited book is a good one. You should not have to spend too much of your pricey therapy visit explaining all the details of why JWs are a cult. They are clearly a 'high-control group'.

  i grew up in the “truth”, i was baptised at 17 as it was encouraged by the elders.

  "Confessions of a teenage Jesus jerk"

  has anyone else seen the movie "confessions of a teenage jesus jerk"?.

  im still processing it, and trying to work out my thoughts..... i would be interested in others thoughts..

  I am so happy I read this thread! And I just finished watching the movie (on Amazon Prime).

  The movie captured the teenage JW experience very well. There were only 3 VERY minor nuances that were slightly off: The Uncle saying he would never be a 'good Jehovah' (and the main character repeating the same phrase) and someone saying 'at Kingdom Hall' instead of 'at *the* Kingdom Hall. I can't remember the 3rd, but likewise very minor.

  It's hard to believe this movie did not get more coverage here on JWN. Searching this site, I found a few threads about the book from 7-8 years ago but they did not get many comments, either.

  This is probably because is uses the term 'Jesus Freak' in the title and XJWs have enough issues of their own with little-to-no-room for Jesus Freak issues.

  But this movie is ALL JW.

  Well worth the hour and half viewing time. But beware, it may trigger a few emotions.

  has anyone else noticed that in the wt study articles the main point they want you to remember is always somewhere around paragraph 11-14?

  it's like a formula.

  intro and overview paragraphs 1-4. basic wt stuff 5-8 (not controversial).

  Not posted for a year because mum died did not want blood.

  i posted here weekly until a year ago when my mum died of a mild form of lukemia which is easy to treat with 2 blood tranfusions a month.

  you can live to 100 with treatment, but no my mum chose to die a faithful witness after 2 years of chemo and hell for her family and doctors.

  her chemo doctor cried when she only had weeks left to live knowing that she could be saved with one bag of blood!

  I wondered what was happening with you. I thought just a new baby was keeping you busy. Sorry to know there was sad JW drama added. Very sorry for your loss.
