hello, my name is bonnie, i will start by how i came "into the truth".
my husband and i lived in dallas, tex in '72, of course we were not married at the time of our being contacted by a work friend of his, though they still befriended us and our families became close.
soon, we were married and quickly thereafter, we were invited to the kingdom hall.

since i joined the forum a short while ago i was confronted by the above scandal, hadn't known about it , haven't been in touch with anything to do with the org for a while.
so i've read all the posts and questions and i think iget the drift, but what i want to kno now is why did they do it?
i hear their excuse of the library card, but that's obviously a load of tosh.
How about this:
Consider the 'NG' to be silent and just use the 'O'.
The 'Watchtower Organization' has been an Organization since the early 1900's (or whenever). It has been an Organization since before the UN even existed.
The 'Watchtower Organization' became an Associate Member of the UN/DPI in 1991.
The Organization called the 'Watchtower' can be found in the membership listings under the heading of "Organizations, NonGovernmental". (aka: NonGovernmental Organizations)
The WTS is an Organization regardless of any existance of or affiliation with the UN. The WTS is also a non-government.
I agree with AuldSoul. It's very important to keep the terminology straight. If we don't, the message loses it strength and confuses our audience. If you are confused about what AuldSoul has said, you may want to read it again. Otherwise you will also confuse the people you try to explain it to.

Richie?? Are you out there?? Tell us you're OK.
(Three weeks until he turns 18, too.....)
We love you, Richie.
-Denise aka Aude.
were you part of the theocratic ministry school and if so did you ever try to subtley spread discension among the flock by attacking the watchtower doctrine with nuances when you were on your way out of the organization??
or did you use the opportunity to get self-righteous and ram some frivolous dribble down the throats of the audience perhaps out of revenge for all the mindless crap you had to listen to for the next hour afterwards..... did you ever know anyone that would get up on the platform and say " hello...goodbye" and just walk off...??.
curious had someone do that once...lol.
Richie Rich gets his digs in, too.
He's planting seeds.

howdy you guys - .
i had a super great vacation this weekend in sunny ca.
to celebrate such a huge change in my life this past year with leaving the org.
So where *is* this promised tatoo of yours?
Inquiring eyes want to see!!
Got pics?
-Aude.
PS: Missed you this weekend but glad you had fun.
i got an email from a friend today describing some strange happenings at the meeting: .
" my wife was in the back room with the kids today and there was this guy who my wife later described as a little "scary looking" for some reason and was carrying an empty "bowling bag" (whatever that is.
anyway, this guy starts grabbing old literature from the library and putting it in his bag.
Gee, if only we had a collection of non-distorted, context-preserved WTS literature quotes, available on the internet to all who asked, in order to get past these "twist around what it says" allegations. Now that sounds like a great idea... oh, never mind.
hehehe
I was thinking the same thing.

a year ago last month i joined jwd and i felt trapped and that i was going to lose my whole family.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/9/86197/1.ashx .
a year ago this month i told my dad i was leaving the jws and i had no idea what was going to happen with my family - but i am willing to face whatever happens.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/9/86311/1.ashx .
a year ago this month i posted some candid views of my time as a bethelite and i ended up meeting someone on this forum that i actually worked with at bethel!.
I sometimes go weeks now without checking this site,
Huh? How is that POSSIBLE??
Congrats on actually living a life.

i was talking to my aunt the other day.
she knows i talk to you apostate folks and i don't think she's very comfortable with it, but that's her problem.. she did, however, ask a question that seems particularly important, not only in and of itself, but even more so when you apply it more generally.. the question was: what do you people have now that you're out?
what has leaving given you?.
I now have whatever I choose to have.
If I choose to have a sparse, quiet life - that is my choice.
If I choose to indulge myself - I can do that too.
I can do what I choose each and every day. Of course, there are consequences to my actions - good and bad - but I get to choose.
The down side (if you can call it that) - is that I can't blame anyone else for how my life is going. Some people need to play the blame/victim game. The WTS is good for that.
-Aude.
for those of you who are unfamiliar with the story, which is ten years old now.
the freeman brothers of allentown pennsylvania lashed out against their strict upbringing by killing their loyal jw parents and even their younger brother.. the story made national headlines because these two had tattoos on their foreheads.
"berzerker" and "sieg heil.".
I remember this, I was living in Upstate NY at the time, and knew Allentown PA well.
Lisa -
Did you the Featherstone's? They were in my congregation in NJ and moved to Allentown sometime in the early/mid '70's.
I think there was an area dubbed 'Kingdom Hill' because so many witness families lived there.
