Remember the assembly hall at Grantville, Pennsylvania?

when i was a child in the early 80's, i remember about twice a year being packed up into the family jdub-mobile and taking about an hour trip up to the grantville, pa assembly hall.

i think it was built in the late 60's, or early 70's.

back in the 80's, circuit assemblies lasted like 4 days.

but the Circuit Assemblies have always been 2 days.

Didn't go to that Assembly Hall but I *do* remember 3-day assemblies. I think it was a Friday evening session? Saturday morning, afternoon and evening session. Sunday was 2 sessions and clean-up. As I recall...

when you will have been an exjw for as long as you were a jw?.

i was raised in the jws from before the age of 10, and stopped going to the kh at the age of 31. i was involved with the jws for a total of 23 years.

i will be 54 years old by the time i have spent more of my life as an exjw than i did as a jw..

I wasn't an 'exJW' from 0-9 years.

I need to change my answer to: 80 years old.

*sigh* I'm too tired to post anymore...

Oh, man! This is depressing...

9 when I was 'hired'. 32 when I walked out and decided to wait for them to get back on the right path.

44 when I found JWD and realized that they were never on the right path to begin with.

35 years believing would put me at 70 years old for the 50/50 mark (because I get to keep those first 9 years, right?? Otherwise I will be 80 and that's just too far away.)

MUCH better to have learned this now while I still have a chance to enjoy my life...

the christian greek scriptures outline three distinct ways in which a christian could become bloodguilty before god: (1) by bloodshed, murder this would include those actively or tacitly supporting the activities of a bloodguilty organization (such as babylon the great [re 17:6; 18:2, 4] or other organizations that have shed much innocent blood [re 16:5, 6; compare isa 26:20, 21]); (2) by eating or drinking blood in any way (ac 15:20); and (3) by failing to preach the good news of the kingdom, thereby withholding the lifesaving information it contains.ac 18:6; 20:26, 27; compare eze 33:6-8.. .

it-1 346-347. i remember being filled with panic, if i did not take every opportunity to preach to others.

not only was i responsible for myself, my children, i felt a responsiblity to everyone i came in contact with.. i would think to myself, should i say something or not........if i don't they might lose their life all because i did not take the opportunity to preach to them.

That guilt played deep in my heart, too.

I just couldn't preach so emphatically to everyone. I could speak with conviction when confronted and I would do my part at the door - but towards the end of my active jw tenure, it was just me and my Bible. And only to people who wanted to talk. I had desire to convert anyone.

My serious depression was only just starting to be very apparent.

That guilt was horrible.
