i think it's a deserving act of love to make the sacrifice to rejoin a cult in order to stay connected to your family.

it's putting your love of your family over so so many things.

what could we call it so we could easily understand someone's actions who also does this?

We're glad you found us, too.
When first finding this site, so many of us became so engrossed in reading others stories that we spent hours and hours and hours reading. I stayed up until 4 and 5 in the morning for 3 days straight. Shocked at what I was learning. And I was already a walk-away believer - inactive for about 13 years.
There is a unique experiece that we all have and - after you get over the fright of talking to nasty Apostates - you will probably find that you have found people that really, really understand and care about you. It feels like home.
I know this is just your first post, but you might consider meeting some people in real life. It was nearly a year after joining this site that I finally met some. Most of us are even better in person...~!!
Don't know where in California you are, but there are some good meet-ups in Southern California.
Think about it.

Signs what are they?

i have been posting here for a little over a month.

i understand several abbrev and so forth but perhaps for the ones like me who are a little slow behind the wheel, we could have a follow up on what the abbrev and different signs that are used in the posts.

it would really help me understand some of the lingo on the threads, thanks for all the help you can give me.. just trying to understand more from my fellow friends and posters.

it is what they call new guys at bethel.

its a way the guys, who have been there awile (like over a year) to put you down.................if you are a new boy you don't know how the organization really works.. one of my favorite new boy stories is about lyman swingle gb.. lunch in the 124 lower dining room 1973. lyman swingle table head said to a new black bethelite........"boy would you pass me the potatos?

I was lurking for a couple of days and then came to a thread with a link to another thread. The linked thead was 'private' so I was *forced* to join.
I'm not very creative when it comes to alias's and didn't want to give any personal info about myself.
I stared at the registration screen and my palms got all sweaty. 'Do I or don't I?' It was very daring at the time. I logged on with the nick: I_Dare.
A day or two later I was reading an article that mentioned a latin phrase: Aude Sapere.
Aude Sapere means: Dare to Know; Dare to Have Wisdom/Understanding. It also means: Dare to Think for Yourself.
I think it's a perfect alias for this site.
So here I am. Two years, two months (and Two Accounts) later.

It's now official: I've "turned apostate."

Yeah - you *do* have that special Apostate look.
I remember someone you'd never even met before declared you an apostate out in public once. Or maybe she was talking about me.
The more time goes, the more crazy those phrases and beliefs are. Sometimes it's embarrasing to remember that I used to think and say the same things.
You're still one of my personal favorite Apostates.

i swear we could write a novel about our life exiting the watchtower!!

ok..many of you read what happened..our house was egged and so was my sisters car that was parked here, and "frosty" was attacked!!
