Oh Dave not only is my partner getting a kick out this but he has very werid sense of humor. Just today at work he had the nerve to joke infront of others at the department saying " Hey Danni ,I think the Jehovah's Witnesses are behind the church fires" Yes everyong thought that was funny. I thought back on your words of "I am scared of female cops with guns" LOL I hate to think what I would have done to this creep if were alone ......Don't quote me hahaha.

Just how involved have you been with JW's anyway?
I'm curious that you use the term "Church", it's not an expression that one would normally encounter to describe a congregation.
I have only known this person for six months.
Yes I have to keep in mind to say congregation. I am not use to this term for religious places of worship. I will have to keep that in mind.

I would have explained all of that but, I had to rush back to work to sign up for my change in shift work tonight. (covering for a friend).You can see from my sentence sturctures it was a rush job.
This is how the meeting took place: I didn't call them, they just popped up at my door this morning while I was having coffee. The ladies told me Joe (short form of his name) gave them my address. So they decided to pay me a visit. I got the impression from the books they had, that they may have been there to sign me up for a study..
I asked them in and offered food and coffee. We began talking. They (not my doing) said they would answer any questions I have. That's when I began asking the questions, therefore if they were under the impression this was offical police business it's their own fault not mine. I never called them to come by. And yes I did ask for names but it was mainly a bluff to see his (man they were with) reaction because he was pissing me off avoiding the questions they offered to answer.
I would never abuse power. I hate the abuse of power. I hate when those in positions over me abuse power.
seven006 Personally I would not give them samples of the questions you are going to ask. They are not under arrest nor are they under criminal investigation. You are just a person who has some questions about a few of their religious policies and you just happen to be a cop.
Yes I agree because it would appear to me that they would ahead of time tell others what to say. I want honest questions.
If you need help in the way of direct questions to ask beyond what you already have, just email me and I'll give you a few.
You can expect to hear from me I will need that help.
If you end up going to this meeting, do record it. Experience also shows that JWs will often deny saying something they later regret.

I wouldn't be allowed to do that becaue it's againist the law to record anyone without their prior knowledge. I am sure if they knew I was recording them they would make sure to bite their tongues on every question..
I want to say this: I by no means believe the six million or so people (I have read they have) covered up child molesting. I don't believe Jehovah's Witnesses love their children any less than anyone out side of their religion. This is a bit shocking to me because, all of the years I have seen these people knock at doors they always seemed harmless people with boring lives. That's just how I viewed them. At the same time I cannot ignore the fact that, there have been children and women raped in places I would never have thought possible. My concerns now is to make sure if this is happening here where I live that anyone in the churches or congregations will not be afriad to come foward. I want the people who are putting their lives in others hands to know it's not a sin to tell on someone who's hurting you to the police. I must admit too. I am most curious about this religion now because of what I have heard here and read at the silentlambs page. You can say, You all turned me onto Jehovha's Witnesses. I have been reading like mad now. Even while working you should see my partner. He too Dave, is getting a kick out of this. What a creep LOL.

Yesterday I took a little time out to talk with Jehovah's Witnesses. At first they were more than happy to answer my questions. However, when I began asking questions about child molestings going unreported, their attitudes completely changed. They became very nervous (oh by the way there were three of them) I noticed one would not look at me in my eyes, (this tends to happen when suspects are guilty of something or wanting to hide things,) The one they referred to as the "brother" began stuttering. He said, it was all lies that apostates put out to make the Jehovah's Witnesses look bad because they had been removed for wrong doings. I explained to him that these stories came from those looking for help for the sexual abuse they suffered. He exact words "those people are put up to talking this way because of being influenced by apostates their stories are untrue"
I asked him how did he know the stories were untrue and did he investigate any of the allegations put foward..He told me he was sure the elders of those congregations (churches) have investigated the problems they were most likely proven as liars this is why they are now attacking the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Okay I can see he's in some kind of denial so I didn't see any reason to any further. Instead I told him I would be speaking with members of his church. Right away he stands up and says "The members are not bond by law to answer your quetions without a lawer" My reply was " do you feel you need lawers?"
I noticed the women became very quiet. Of course not, he said, we feel it's best you ask these questions to Elders because they are better qualified to answer your questions he told me. I asked him for the names of members of his church He said he didn't keep a list of names. I said, you do keep a list and pulled out information I collected off line about a card showing they keep records on every memeber. He was surprised. He again said, I should speak with the elders of the church..Today at work (which is where i better go before i get introuble) My cheif called me into his office asking me about an "investigation" being done by the police department. He apparently received a call from some lawers representing the Jws. I had to explain eveything from the beginning and I added I was doing this on my time off or my own time. He laughed at the thought of Jws being investigated for scandle. And added "make sure it's on your own time".
Here's the advice I am asking for: I checked my voice mail I have been invited to a meeting at the church of Jehovah's Witnesses where they say they will answer all my questions but, they want a list up front of what questions I will ask. And a list of questions I will ask the members of the church. All of you know what to expect in cases like this. The question is: should i give the list or not. What would do with the list, give it to their lawers? What should i expect?

Just tell me what you know of them, why they believe the way they do, show me how they use the Bible in their line of logic. Tell me about the famly lives in there. What's it like on a suday. YouKnow: I see from your words you do enjoy your battle with Alan. I misunderstood this. I felt you were being attacked because of what appears to have been harrassment over you not answering some questions and not approving over the ones you did answer. If the two of enjoy fighting by all means do so. But please stop using God as an excuse to fight and debate. I have met someone who is willing to answer my questions without all of this, I will go to this person for answers. My questions are all heavy I am just to kind of person to ask them. I can see this is no place to ask them. I am not looking for fights or starting them just looking for answers.
For those of you who gave me honest answers I think you all very much, and I apprciate your warm welcomes. I will continue to look into the matters Dave. I promise. Let's keep intouch.

YouKnow: How can a person be evil because he want's to see his mother? what kind of persons would tell her not to talk with him or give her the impression it's wrong to talk with him? I just read that scripture it says people that commits wrongs according to the Bible's explantion. It does not say she should talk with her own child.

Englishman: I have been around people less than two days and see they need professional help. Come go with me on the job for a day and see if you have that same attitude. It's not people like him (youknow) that has responding to questions or comments with insults it's people like you who in here that cannot stand anything said, against you but don't have a problem with insulting others,because you have a problem with opinions you disagree with..
I will not tolerate this kind of attitude from you at this time or any other whether I come in here for an hour , week , or two minutes. I hope I made myself clear to you.

One scripture the Watchtower tries to use to defend its shunning policy is 1 Corinthians 5:11-13.I can't believe it I just read it! I would have bet my house there was nothing like that in the Bible. At the same time it still didn't say you can't talk with those who don't believe the same way anymore. Show me that. Not putting my house on it. :)

I was just reading some of those names in this Dictionary of the Bible I bought.
seven006 I know you are a good person you speak with compassion and pain at the same time. I wish just for a moment I could trade places with you and talk with your mother. If she won't talk with you go to her. Dave I know she has to love you. She may even break down from seeing you. When I came back from Japan my mom did, you would have thought I was coming back from a war the way she acted. It's just something in moms. I don't know how to stress to you to go and talk with her. This is sad.
