I could understand most of what you stated, but the question above really stumped me.

Let me see if I understand what you and AGuest are implying here. Uhhh use the bible to prove your points when needed, but when it's painfuly obvious the bible is goofy, then you must talk to (also see) god himself or one of his representitives? Is that what your saying No?

Try answering a question with direct plain english, instead of relying upon smarmy religious mumbo jumbo. It appears that anyone who subscribes to your beliefs, must take a crash course in archaic bible speak.

It is the words that turn you guys on. Pretty much the same way jw's get all jazzed when they hear about the 'faithful and discreet slave class', 'spirit directed', 'sanctified', 'chosen out of all the nations', kinda tommy rot they love to hear week in, week out. It is those trigger words, that give substance to alot of hot air.

this is the main question really for any religious org.

according to them do it gods way and close your mind to your own logic and reason and that of the worlds (given to us by the very god they believe in).

or be an independent thinker and reason stuff out according to the watchtower satan influences independent thinkers and they warn against it as this is the devils way of doing it.

Excellent. Amazing recently wrote about the benefits of being 'a doubting Thomas'.....your thoughts only magnify the point.

When individuals or groups surrender their doubts, their reasoning, they in effect say 'my God given talents are worthless'. Or to put it more succinctly they admit they have little if any self worth, without ratification from the object of their devotion.....usually some religion or 'way'.

If anyone needed to see an example of why the ancient Isrealites, Arabs, and other mystical cultures accepted spoken and written words as being inspired of god, you and AGuest just provided the answer.

The ancient scrolls that turned up in a printed format with Guttenburg's 17th century King James Version, is a compilation of very similar works. In other words you two provide all the proof needed to reject the bible as inspired utterances of God.

This is the most 'out'landish to date. If I were you I would erase the whole revelation. This is not going to help get your message out.

In fact imo you should erase this. If you have any relatives who want to 'put you away' you have just given them cause for consideration.

i see that priscilla has posted a thread about my wifes situation , sigh, you cant tell anybody anything without it getting around and becoming public knowledge.

im not one to wear my heart on my sleeve or seek public sympathy for my problems, and i planned on saying nothing.

im viewed as a hard man and must preserve my reputation.

Iam afraid you have demolished the 'evil bastard' rumor with the above simple confession.

Any prolonged illness a loved one has to endure takes a toll on those who must watch pretty much helplessly on the sidelines. I truly understand what your enduring rf.

Remember those clean nighties and underwear, probably mean more to your wife than you can imagine. Sometimes it is the little things, in these no win situations, that are truly HUGE.

Sometimes it is hard to express a counterview without it sounding like ridicule. You make very strong points above Shell.

Even so, Iam sure you will agree, so many blindly accept whatever they have been raised to believe, or what is the popular view at the time, that a healthy 'doubting Thomas' attitude can put things in perspective.

It seems to me that when a belief requires the adherent to manufacture all sorts of symbols, types and antitypes, to make the belief plausable, it is an exercise in mind numbing platitudes, just to make the believer feel more assured of his/her stand.

Still loling about the titty twister. Somehow two people completely naked in a garden with all sorts of mystical tree's around, chasing each other and administering 'titty twisters' to each other is a vivid picture in my minds eye.

How you guys can even talk seriously about this total fabrication is beyond me. Do you actually believe that Moses reader's of his day, even understood the concept of 'symbolisim'?

Were talking about his Genesis book, being read by the same people who actually witnessed their god YHWH part the Red Sea, some even eye witnesses to the 10 plauges of Egypt. They witnessed the sun stand still. They saw Moses call water from the rocks. They saw and possibly touched the very handwriting of god himself. They witnessed entire nations struck down by their god Jah.

Symbolisim was the least of their concerns.......they didn't even know what symbols or antitypes meant.

So here we come along thousands of years later......and to make the whole fantasy of the Garden of Eden palatable, we must ascribe all sorts of deep and meaningful symbols to the whole 'cartoon'. Wake up friends and smell some reality............didn't you get enough of all that 'fulfillment' crap while worshiping the god YHWH, who has not performed even the simplist act or ratification of all the rest of the 65 books that followd Moses little story book.

I mean what does it take to wake up to all the wool that been pulled clear down to your ankles, for the last several milleniums?

Sorry just had to get that off my chest.
